I’ve got 2 fibaro motion sensors installed. Now since recently one of them suddenly shows a dramatic drop in battery level. Seems quite strange as the older one is still around 100%
Anyone else experiencing this?
For me, it seems to depend very much on the brand of the battery used.
Looking back at my last battery change:
- 100% for 4 months
- 92% for 3-4 days
- 74% for 3-4 days
- Then it died suddenly, requiring battery replacement.
The one before that:
- 100% for about 6 weeks
- Steady decline to 33% over the next 6 weeks
- Sudden drop to 1%, stayed working for about a month
Current battery:
Right now it’s been 100% for a little over 3 months.
In any case, sudden drops don’t really surprise me. Battery level indicators are based on voltage, but battery manufacturers try hard to deliver a more or less equal voltage until the last moment, so devices continue to work normally for as long as possible. This does make battery indicators somewhat useless though
