I have a problem with unlocking the kiosk mode with biometric only and i would much prefer having the possibility to do it with login and password.
Here is why. I sometimes rent my place. I would like the renters to be able to use my iPad to access kiosk mode (and not all of my homey devices). Renters can’t, of course, access my ipad with finger prints or face ID. Also, i don’t want them to have to use passcode as it’s easily forgotten. I just want them to use freely the ipad and access the kiosk mode. So i have to record my fingerprint on the iPad and then i have to remove the need for passcode to turn the iPad on. That works and indeed i can then turn on the ipad without code, accesss the kiosk mode and i need my biometric to quit the kiosk mode. So fa so good.
Except that, since the iPad doesn’t have any passcode, any renter can record his own fingerprint and then quit the kiosk mode and access all my homey devices.
This could be solve easily if there was an option to quit the kiosk mode with the Homey’s login and password. I really hope that this option will be available in the future.
