Does anyone here own any BG Electrical UK smart sockets?
I owned a couple of these a few years back, but shifted them on as Ewelink products worked really poorly with Google Home at the time and paying for multiple IFFFT applets just became pointless for the minimal use cases I had at the time.
Does anyone own any and have you tried to get them working with Homey, since the Ewelink app was added to Homey?

Yes, I’ve tried. Neither of the apps that various places claim can make these work within Homey actually work. I’m trying to get an answer from BG as to whether or not they might produce an app but I’m not holding my breath,
Are the devices not getting discovered by the eWeLink app for Homey?

No, there’s no sign of them using the Ewelink app and when I tried to add one as a generic device all it did was mess up the connection to the BG app and stop it working with Alexa.
Also, they don’t appear as an option in the list of devices on the app.

So, I finally got a reply from BG:
“We currently have no plans to make these devices compatible with Homey.”
For “currently” I would read “never”.
I have found an AI answer which recommends using smart switches to trigger alexa/google routines which seems to be the only viable workaround so far. Haven’t tried it yet but fingers crossed.
It’s a Broadlink-based device. I can check for you if it’s possible to build a Homey app for it, but I don’t think so since Broadlink uses advanced encryption for the mobile app’s communications.
I’ve already spoken to the chap (Sharkys) you previously recommended who did the Broadlink app. His doesn’t work with these. I did mean to put up a request as he suggested, but… life. If you are able to check that would be great, especially if it works out. If not, maybe I’ll get around to learning how to create apps myself some day and give it a go.
