I am not sure I understand this fully but if a device says it needs a hub to connect it such as Govee smart buttons or ikea remote or smart buttons, doesn’t Homey act as such to pair that device? I’d like to have as few hubs or controllers as possible?
It depends on how the device connects. If it’s compatible by a Homey app using ZigBee/Z-Wave, the device can be linked directly. However, if the Homey app for the brand uses a cloud connection, you would need the manufacturer’s hub.
Some devices can be either linked via the hub or directly to Homey, such as Tuya and Sonoff (works either directly to Homey or via the hub to Homey)
