Since recent Homey introduced to create flows via ChatGTP. However, if I try to do so I get the feedback it is not able to create the flow so it only gives me the instructions instead. What am I missing that this is not working for me?
Do you have the “Homey” ChatGPT app linked and added in the chat (+ symbol → Homey)?
Yes. Does it work with that?
No clue & not tested, but with this new app you seem to be able to actually build flows using AI?
Just ask it “Can you also create it for me?”. Maybe it will then try to use its tools, or tell you the reason why it doesn’t create them?
I asked and below the response:
I can’t create the flow yet, even though I can see parts of your Homey configuration.
The reason is that I currently only have access to read/list capabilities (I can inspect available Flow cards, devices, triggers, etc.), but I don’t have a Homey action available that allows me to create or modify flows. I would need a function such as “create_flow”, “update_flow”, or similar, and that isn’t exposed in the current Homey integration.
I can see that your Homey does have the standard trigger:
- The time is (homey:manager:cron:time_exactly)
So the flow itself is straightforward:
When
- The time is → 22:00
Then
- Turn off all lights
If the Homey integration later exposes flow-creation actions, I should be able to build it directly for you. Right now I can only tell you how to configure it manually, not write it into Homey itself.
I think you should contact Athom support in that case:
Probably something wrong with their MCP/ChatGPT app
Yes sir! Try it out if you want ![]()
I’d love to, but I’m (a bit) old (fashioned) and will miss out on all the fun in creating flows myself ![]()
