Coqon DThermz5 ( Danfoss RS-Z or Devolo) z-wave

Dear All,

I have written to request support for the Coqon “DThermz5” device, as it is currently unsupported within any Homey apps.

This device is a Danfoss product (RS_Z), and it shares an identical device produced by Coqon and Devolo, but even retaining the Danfoss branding on its casing.

Both Devolo and Danfoss have released apps on Homey that have failed to recognize this device. (I got unknow device).

Therefore, I would like to inquire about the following:

1. Could Danfoss/Devolo apps be customized recognizing the Coqon DThermz5? The core functionality should be the same as Danfoss/Devolo app but achievable through a modified manufacturer ID. Any Community app?

2. If the development of a customized app is not feasible, could you provide the Z-Wave raw configuration for a “generic device” that would function as a room thermostat?

3. I have observed that the device list in Homey only includes “Other” as a generic device option… How to set up the correct device type as room thermostat?

4. It is noteworthy that an open-source as Home Assistant platform offers automatic configuration for this device, while the Homey system does not. Can we import and convert Home assistant Yaml file in Homey?

5. I found in github a potential comunity app/solution: GitHub - mapulu/com.danfoss at alpha

But the command “npm install -g homey” doesn’t work in Windows 11.. too many deprecated modules have not been found.

The quickest way to check whether a device is supported is to search the app store. If you can’t find the specific device, have a look for the brand of device you are looking for.

If no app is found, you can make a request to Athom or the Homey Community to add support. See [Requests] Official Homey App and Device Request for ways of doing that.

I tried all your proposed ways.

As I wrote Danfoss and Devolo apps have this device inside their portfolio but after the pairing process I got “unknow device” in Homey. There is no community app supporting this device too (as I have not found it). De facto I have no solutions on the hands. I proposed some tentatives in my previous post. In Home Assistant everything works perfectly.

I was able to install Danfoss Community app GitHub - mapulu/com.danfoss at alpha via Homey CLI. LC13 thermostat works but RS-Z room thermostat doesn’t. As shown in the photo, during adding devices operation, it stucks in a continuing loop on the RS-Z box upper right site. In the app it shows a red triangle with “!” and I cannot click.

Good morning, till now I have no solutions and no feedback. I was able to set it up along Home Assistant (with Z-wave JS configuration DB) and it has been working perfectly.

Thanks for any suggestion about how to integrate this room thermostat in Homey Pro.

Hi,
did you find a solution for the Coqon Variant of the RS-Z-Danfoss room thermostate?
I have some of these and the Danfoss Original as well as the Devolo Clon are rare (.. and expensive).
Have you asked the Developer of the Danfoss-App about an adjustement to maske their App Coqon-compatible?
