So I know this thread is really old but I never got this to work and gave up. Today it’s really windy here in Sweden and I felt the need to know the wind direction when I was woken in the middle of the night by a gust of wind that made the house groan.
I have tried to copy your flow #oklie but I can’t get it to work. If you are still here on the forum would you mind helping me? ![]()
I think I understand your flow, but what is the second card in the first line? Where do you get the two “windrichting” from?
I tested my copied flow and it seemed to work…in the way that the progress went from “Windrichting is vendered” all the way to one of the “Set windrichting naar XX”. However the result is not displayed anywhere. I created a virtual device that I called “readable wind direction” and pointed the cards in the right card column to it with the corresponding vind direction as text but I get no readout on the device.
I must be missing something here… ![]()
EDIT: To test I made a few notification cards to the right of the flow just to see if the “signal path” is working. It is…so my problem seem to be to get the signal to display on a device in Homey.
EDIT 2: I managed to get this to work using an Advanced Virtual Device after great help from Peter_Kawa in this thread. I decided to use only nine directions for the wind i.e N, NE, E, SE and so on. The location of my house and the placement of the wind sensor makes it so that the wind seldom is constant and with 16 directions it’s much harder to get a general perception of the wind direction. I just deleted the unwanted cards in oklie’s flow and adjusted the wind angle ranges. To make it easy for myself I asked ChatGPT to tell me the correct degrees for each direction.
Now it works perfectly! ![]()
