Maybe I’m just blind or something, or my account is somhow completely messed up, but I cannot add a 2nd home in the app. Always get the message “you already added a home”.

You need a second Athom Account for that.
Well that sucks, and makes no sense on top. Like … I’d literally pay two premium abos but hey if they dont want my cash …
It’s by design and I am pretty sure they had a reason for it.
Just use a second email, create a second Athom Account and invite each other to the other Homey.
There are only 2 things only the Owner can do.
Not that Complex I guess.
There are more services that do not allow to create a second (payed not free) instance of their service on one account, email address or telephone number. This is just also one them.
