Buying new Homey

I have a Homey 2019 and adv Flows Upgrade. Moved all Zigbee devices to Z2M on my Synology because I couldn’t make use of Homey Zigbee in a satisfying way.

Few weeks ago my Homey died and I did came back to life before I bought a new one. Now it’s dead again and I think about buying the latest Homey no matter what.

Now that I haven’t followed Smart Home trends the past years I ask myself if it still pays off to buy a Homey. Are there better options now that I already don’t use Zigbee?

So far I like how flows are made so that what still attracts me.

is the official LAN adapter recommended or will any do?

You can also buy an older Homey for cheap second hand (€60-€120)

I use one of these. I’ve had it installed for a year and it’s worked well. It’s advertised for Google TV, but Homey has no problem with it. If you look around, you’ll find the same product advertised under different names.

Depending on what Synology you have; you could consider trying Homey SHS instead too…
