The App says ‘crashed’ as in the pic I sent a little back. (And it stops communicating with the Button+)
I did an export but it creates so many characters that I can not send it to you as a message due to length limitations. What to do?

OK, so the cause of the crash is recursion caused by setting up a button to itself. When you click on the button the state changes which triggers a state change, which triggers a state change, etc. If you just want the button to do nothing then set the device to none.
I have published a new test version that blocks the recursion to protect people in the future, so thank you for pointing out the possibility in the app.
Ah that is good to know. As you can probably see/notice I’m trying to find my way in this Button+ land. Incidentally: I created a loop in a flow yesterday which kind of froze the Homey… and I realised there is no way of seeing this is happening. Or at least I don’t know how to become aware of it apart from being aware that you can cause that to happen. Anyway, thanks for the update and pointing that out to me! It’s obvious that I don’t exactly know what I’m doing. (yet!). ![]()
Homey should detect loops and disable the Flow to protect it from freezing. Maybe report that to Athom if you can reliably reproduce the issue.
I’ve tried a complete new laptop with Edge and no data is send. Console log from that. Sorry for the long text.

Have you assigned the configurations to the panels in the device settings?
Dear Button readers. First of all a kind of meta question: Is this the only Button+ ‘post’ where we can ask the community for advice/suggestions? (As this one seems to basically be all aimed at Adrian, there must also already be some other experienced Buttoners who can help?). Anyway, I have a question that I would normally open a separate post for… and the answer for which I tried to find in this one (who knows it might already be mentioned) but that is unfeasible, apparently. Anyway, just wanted to make sure we keep Adrian’s attention to the things that really matter. Very grateful you see, what you’re up to!
Anyway, this is my question:
Is there an easy, clever, simple way to dynamically (from a flow) enable and disable a button (based on the context/value of another button) without losing it’s properties?
Example: I have 2 buttons for guests.
So what I would like to do, to make the panel more intuitive… is to only activate button 2 when button 1 is saying that the guest is present. Meaning it will go dark, and Homey won’t respond to pushing it, when the guest is not present.
This could be a mechanism useful for other things too obviously. Make the panel more (inter)active and dynamic. Only the relevant buttons are available.
Anyway, hope it won’t give (only) Adrian a headache…
I mounted my first Button+ on the wall today and every time I pass it, it makes me smile.
Right, thanks all!
This one is for Adrian. ![]()
Last night the Button+ app was upgraded to 0.7.38.
This morning, after my first night with the Button+ operational, I found the statuses of 2 buttons inexplicably changed. I checked all the flow code and notifications but could not find the explanation why this happened.
Is it possible that during an app upgrade, the status is changed? (All 6 buttons were in ‘off’ state this morning, 2 of them should have been in ‘on’ state.)
FYI and kind regards!
What is driving the button states?
In theory, the buttons state should always reflect the device / capability state and those that are not related to devices should remember their state between restarts as the app uses the Button+ device button state.
I’m not sure I understand this enough to give you a reliable answer. I’ll try a little:
The buttons are all unrelated to a device in Homey. (so I filled in ‘none’) and deal with the changes of the buttons in flows. (In fact: these buttons all represent devices in Homeseer and are synced with them through webhooks.)
I’ve found that when I send a configuration update to the Button+, and you see it restarting, it does remember the state of the buttons.
So this morning I was a bit surprised 2 buttons had changed… or perhaps I should say they were all in ‘off’ state.
This is all I can think of saying about it… I think.
That was it! Thank you.
As missing the steps to assign configurations to elements has cropped up several times now, I have added a small animation to the first configuration page showing that step. Hopefully that should clear up the confusion.
I found a bug with a lack of implementation for buttons on/off statuses. The problem with the Tags. There three tags: Controller Position (numeber), Page (number), and “Left” (bulean). It would be Great to have another Tag that corresponds for what state it is going to. Either On or Off.
Release 0.7.33 worked, but in 0.7.38 all my MQTT items won’t work anymore.
You can’t add your MQTT topics etc. anymore. In the screenshot, this is the lower part of the view. Scrolling down to add the item has disappeared. In the json-export the old entries still remain, but I can’t add extra entries anymore
Thanks for reporting that. I have published a new test version that should bring the settings back to the new UI.
Great, I will try that immediately!
Update: I can see my MQTT items now again. So I can start building further on this! Thanks!
I will take a look this evening.
