Best Buy Guide issues

I’ve found some issues with the Best Buy Guides. I checked all of them, every product in those lists for Homey Cloud/Bridge/Pro compatibility and found multiple incorrect compatibility listings. I don’t know where I should report these (Athom Support likely won’t be able to modify those either). Therefore, I’m listing them here in the Ideas & Suggestions category.

  1. Nous Water Sensor E4: Homey Bridge tag is missing, while it is supported according to the Nous app.

  2. Tado Smart AC Control: according to the Tado app, this device is supported on Homey Cloud as well. Also, AFAIK Tado doesn’t require a subscription for Homey integration (my Tado V3 thermostat doesn’t, at least)

  3. Tapo Camera: they are not supported by Homey Cloud, and IMO it’s not clearly mentioned that Tapo battery powered cams are not supported by Homey.

  4. UniFi Protect camera: not supported by Homey Cloud, while the guide says it is

  5. WiZ Rune Ceiling Light: supported by Homey Cloud, using the WiZ app. The guide says it’s only for Pro, that is incorrect.

  6. Govee Tree lights: these lights are AFAIK supported by Homey Cloud via the Govee app’s “Govee Cloud device“

  7. LIFX Outdoor Permanent lights: AFAIK supported by Homey Cloud via the LIFX app

  8. Philips Hue contact sensor: supported by Homey Cloud since recently:

  9. Growatt ARK Home Battery is likely supported on Homey Cloud by the Growatt app

  10. SolarEdge Home Battery: likely supported by Homey Cloud via the SolarEdge app

  11. Growatt MIN series: likely supported by Homey Cloud via the Growatt app

  12. SolarEdge Home Hub inverter: likely supported on Homey Cloud via the SolarEdge app. Also, AFAIK it should be “Pricey” instead of “Pricy“

  13. Sungrow SG series: likely supported on Homey Cloud with the Sungrow app

  14. LIFX Luna: likely supported on Homey Cloud by the LIFX app

  15. Govee M1 Light Strip: likely supported on Homey Cloud by the Light device

  16. Aqara T2 bulbs: should be supported on Homey Cloud

  17. WiZ light bulbs: supported on Homey Cloud via the WiZ app

  18. Nuki Smart Lock Pro 4th gen: should be supported on Homey Cloud via the Nuki app

  19. Nuki Smart Lock Ultra: should be supported on Homey Cloud with the Nuki app. Also, it should be “Pricey“ instead of “Pricy“

  20. Philips Hue Motion Sensor: supported by Homey Cloud via the Philips Hue app

  21. Shelly Plug S MTR: Should be supported on Homey Cloud by the Shelly app, since AFAIK Shelly devices use multi-protocol (either Matter, ZigBee or WiFi/Cloud)

  22. Mi Flora pot: should be supported on Homey Cloud (with Homey Bridge) as well

  23. Aqara Dimmer Switch H2: should be supported on Homey Cloud (with Homey Bridge) according to the Aqara app

  24. Sonoff SwitchMan: AFAIK those are WiFi switches which work with the eWeLink app, so should also be supported by Homey Cloud

  25. Aqara Climate Sensor: it mentions “Support whether you use a Homey Bridge or a Homey Pro“, but the official Aqara app does not yet support this device in Zigbee mode. This makes it impossbile to add it to Homey Bridge/Homey Cloud.

  26. Nous temperature sensor: should be supported on Homey Cloud

  27. SwitchBot Thermometer: AFAIK it doesn’t need the hub and can be directly connected via BLE to Homey Bridge and Homey Pro as well

  28. Xiaomi LYWSD03MMC: does not require custom firmware, I use the stock FW and it works fine using the Mijia Homey app

  29. SmartWings: should be supported on Homey Cloud (Z-Wave models only) using this app

I don’t know where I should report these (does @Doekse write the Best Buy Guides?)

Hello @smarthomesven

Thank you so much for taking the time to compile such a detailed list.
This is very helpful and exactly the kind of community feedback we value to keep these guides accurate.

We definitely acknowledge these mistakes. We are only human, and with the library of supported devices growing so rapidly, some “Works with” tagging errors unfortunately slipped through the cracks. Additionally, several apps have been updated or overhauled since the guides were released, which accounts for some of the visible discrepancies. Changes we should have caught anyway. I appreciate the fresh set of eyes from users like yourself, as it helps ensure these guides remain a reliable resource for the entire community.

We’ve already gone over each point you raised and made corrections where applicable.
Everything should now be properly tagged, explained, and brought up to speed.

You will also be happy to learn that we are developing a new, more robust tagging system.
With the expansion of the hardware lineup, some devices fall into unique categories (e.g., working with Homey Pro but not the Homey Pro mini due to Z-Wave requirements). This means a simple “Homey Pro” tag is no longer sufficient. And than we have Homey SHS to account for too

Once this new system is live, every entry will be re-checked, verified and tagged properly.
In the meantime, if you have other suggestions, please feel free send me a DM so I can fix them promptly.

Thank you again for your submission.
