B-hyve — Orbit smart watering (unofficial)

I am launching the unofficial B-hyve app to integrate homey with Orbit B-hyve!

Control your Orbit B-hyve smart watering products from Homey — hose faucet timers, multi-zone sprinkler controllers, and flood sensors, fully integrated with Flows and Insights.

This is an unofficial community app, not affiliated with or endorsed by Orbit. It talks to the same B-hyve cloud as the official phone app, so both stay in sync — and thanks to B-hyve’s live push connection, watering started from a schedule or the phone app shows up in Homey within seconds.

Supported devices

  • :shower: Hose faucet timers (HT-25, XD, etc. — via the B-hyve Wi-Fi hub)
  • :seedling: Indoor/outdoor multi-zone sprinkler controllers (6/8/16-zone models)
  • :ocean: Flood & temperature sensors (Orbit 71000)

A B-hyve account and the Wi-Fi hub (for hose timers) are required. Bluetooth-only timers can’t be controlled from the cloud.

What you can do

Watering — every zone is its own device: tap to water with your default runtime, or use the “Water for” slider to run any duration straight from the device — no Flow needed. Watch the time remaining count down, and track water usage per zone in Insights.

Rain delays — one toggle pauses everything; Flows can set any delay based on your weather app and notify you when delays start or end.

Programs — run, enable, or disable your B-hyve schedules by name from Flows, or set a program’s watering budget (50% = half runtime) for seasonal adjustment.

Smart Watering — see soil moisture per zone, and even tell Orbit how wet the soil actually is so it replans.

Flood sensors — standard Homey water/temperature alarms, so you can shut watering down (or the water main, if you have a valve) the moment a leak is detected.

Flow highlights

  • Triggers: watering started/finished (zone, program, minutes, gallons/litres tags), rain delay started/ended, mode changed, station fault
  • Conditions: rain delay active, watering held by rain sensor, mode is…, program enabled
  • Actions: water for N minutes, stop, set rain delay, run/enable/disable program, set budget, set soil moisture

Installation

:package: App Store: submission in progress — this post will be updated with the test link, then the store link.

:wrench: Now (sideload): source is on GitHub — grantlutz/Homey-B-hyve — install with homey app install. Full instructions in the User Guide.

Initial release: all three drivers, live push updates, full flow card set, pairing/repair, water usage metering. See the changelog for details.

Credit where due: the Orbit cloud protocol knowledge builds on the excellent Home Assistant B-hyve integration by @sebr and contributors.

Feedback wanted! I’m running it on three hose faucet timers — if you have a multi-zone controller or flood sensor, I’d especially love to hear how it behaves. Post your experiences, feature requests, and Flow ideas below. :backhand_index_pointing_down:
