Automations based on wifi name

I am not sure to be honest, my Homey pro will arrive tomorrow. I did a google search and that is what the AI search brought back. We all know how reliable that will be.

I still think I am going to run both HA and Homey Pro. I worked out that over 10 years I could save £330 by using the Homey Pro for alexa and google home.

I need to keep HA as my heating system Hive is not supported by Homey. Plus I think the automations are a bit more customisable in HA, but I will reserve judgement on that until I get the device.

I just setup a very cool automation in HA. When I leave the device and my phone connects to the cars Bluetooth HA recognises that instantly and turns all my lights and heating off!

Then if I connect to the cars Bluetooth again and the home away helper is off for 5 minutes, it will turn the heating back on, so the house is warm by the time I get home!

I think this just doesn’t exist, but I don’t own a Pro23. It isn’t available @ Pro 2019 for sure:

But, when it does exist, it is useless, because it only checks the wifi SSID to which Homey is connected with!
This is of no use, while normally that SSID never changes.

It should be possible to check the SSID your phone is connected with, to be able to determine if your phone is home or in your car.

And from what I know, there is (STILL) no phone sensors available in Homey (flows).

This is also possible with Macrodroid f.i. It can determine to which Bluetooth device it’s connecting, or disconnecting.
But you can also create several geofences as big as you like, for different locations, and send webhooks to Homey when you enter or leave a geofence.
