Mine still are working without problems. I have all forms of flowcard. Flow starts with card or flow starts with automation triggering cards. This applies for IF, AND and THEN cards. But I noticed my sensors are not triggering anymore. And some sensors do not work or have flowcards for “IF motion is detected”. But that’s implementations for devices are missing.
I installed 1.5.3 yesterday mid-afternoon. All devices were working except, as others have reported, operating a device outside of Homey UI and flows (using : the Tuya Andriod app; Alexa; physical operation) did not update status in Homey.
From time to time I switched some Tuya devices on and off to check they were working. When I went to bed all OK. Being a man of a certain age, I was awake at 2am. I tried a couple of devices. To start with, devices responded but after a couple of attempts the problem recurred. It’s possible I was unlucky and my timing coincided with a server incident, or maybe my interactions triggered something.
Initially flows triggered by Flic buttons did nothing. When I tried the UI icons responded, but the device did nothing then after a short time, the icon reset all on its own - no error message.
Multiple restarts didn’t fix the issue. Instead, most devices began showing as unavailable.
Repair reset some icons but devices didn’t work showing an ‘unable to refresh token’ error message. A restart cleared all the icons but attempts to use any device gave the timout message. A second restart a short while later restored functionality.
After another 30m or so I tried one device via flow and nothing happened. Another device worked first time then attempts to use it were ignored. I went back to Homey but repair and multiple restarts still gave timeouts.and all icons started showing as unavailable.
A second repair and restart without trying to use any devices in between restored function. Checking this morning, devices are still working via UI and flows.
I hope some of that is useful although it’s not what you wanted to hear, and thanks again for working the problem.
Andy
Update 1.5.3. looks stable for at least the last 10 hours or so.
But..devices work fine when controlled by Homey direct or with flows and the status is also correct shown in the SmartLife app, but if the status is changed in the SmartLife app, outside Homey, it does’t change it’s state in the Homey and no reaction on flows which monitor these devices.
klopt volledig, flows werken niet op status die wijzigt buiten homey om omdat de status niet wordt doorgegeven vanuit tuya naar homey
We are currently in direct contact with Tuya (amazing what an ESM update can do!), and they are looking into a race condition on their end where a freshly generated token is rejected on a subsequent API call. This race condition can explain why updates are not coming in: after a refresh the update channel is restarted (MQTT) with the new token, but if that is rejected the channel cannot be opened. Next to that, it looks like the rate limit is still being hit, so we’re looking into solving that as well.
As workaround for the first issue we’ve updated the delay after a token refresh (1.5.5), and Tuya is looking into solving the issue on their side as well. With the combined efforts the service should be restored soon.
Updated the Tuya app to 1.5.4 a few hours ago, still working (also the status updates).
Thanks for your fast response and digging into it to solve the problem, @drenso. ![]()
It looks that everything is working perfect. Using V1.5.5 for a few hours and for this moment it is working flawless.
As I said earlier I noticed only my sensors were not working. But with the newest version they do now. Thanks!
Yes also appear to be working for me again. Seems to be fixed with 1.5.5
what’s going on with the tuya app? I have a problem with all paired devices by tuya app. In smart life all is good. The message is “time out after 10000ms”
Please check the discussion above your post: install the new version of the app (1.5.5) and (if needed) repair (not re-pair) one of your Tuya devices via the option in the device tile.
could I update the app or must reinstall ?
Update
.
thanks !!
Way to go Drenso. No problems yet and everting is working fine again ![]()
UPDATE:
I created a tuya scene inside the tuya mobile app, which set the speed, and now I am referencing them from the homey app instead. Seems to work fine.
Hi Everyone,
After the upgrades a few cards have gone off-line in my flows.
Historically you were able to control FAN-Speed on your ceiling fans as part of the TUYA integration, seems like this specific control is no longer available.
Anyone has an idea on how to fix this? Or is it a bug on the integration side.
I can still control speed from the Tuya app on my phone, so the interface is somehow exposed (as I understand it the Tuya Homey app is just using the same interface as the official Tuya mobile app)
No, it is a completely different interface. Things that work in de Tuya mobile app are not guaranteed to be working with the generic cloud API this app is using. Depends on whether the manufacturer has created the correct cloud function bindings.
I installed 1.5.5 on Friday afternoon and all devices worked well until yesterday evening. Since then all my Tuya devices became unresponsive three times, but with a different presentation than before.
This time there was no ‘unavailable’ message on icons. When trying to operate a device, I get a red box at the top of the screen saying “Something went wrong controlling [device name here].” with a “View details” link. Clicking the link showed “Timeout after 10000ms”.
The second occurrence was shortly after I used one of my Tuya devices from the UI without a problem.
Each time, a restart of the app was all that was necessary to restore full function. I have 27 Tuya devices - all lights and switches - but I operate them only occasionally so I wouldn’t expect to exceed any usage limits.
I meant to test whether or not the icons responded to changes made via Alexa or the SmartLife app - but forgot. I’ll try to do that next time.

Update: I just operated a couple of devices via the smartlife app and the icons in the Homey UI are not updating. I can, however, continue to operate Tuya devices via Homey. Forcing a repair on one device fixes the problem.
I had to restart the Tuya app this morning, and then the devices started to response. I am on the latest version
