[APP] Tuya - Smart Life. Smart Living

Yes, same here. Also the timeout after 30000ms message

I started monitoring the system on August 3, 2026, after updating to version 1.5.0. I have since updated to version 1.5.5, which is the version currently running as of August 9.

Unfortunately, the problem occurred again last night, around midnight. As you can see in the graph, CPU usage remained between approximately 1.6% and 2% throughout the night, so the app did not appear to stop running or become completely inactive.

However, this morning the Tuya devices were no longer responding. The issue was only resolved after restarting the Tuya app. After the restart, I also had to repair one of the devices before it started responding again.

The second graph shows the CPU usage over the past week. This may help to identify whether there is a pattern or a change in behaviour leading up to the problem.

I am still having problems with the Tuya App.
I only have Tuya lights. If I restart the Tuya app, they work, but after about 1 hour I get the error message “Time out after 10000 ms” again.Adding a new device is also not possible.
I hope this is a temporary solution. I have a flow that says ‘restart the Tuya App every hour’. I am going to test it.

Yes, same here. Also timeout 30000ms before restarting. I’ll also make a Flow to restart the Tuya app every day.

I have version 1.5.5 running for 3 days and no issues yet. (I hope I don’t jinx it now  ).

Unfortunately, also problems on my side again. Enabled the flow again to reset the Tuya app every 30 minutes. Also made the switch to Tuya Cloud commands for some flows.

It is a repeat of this problem like many other people’s, but the same problem here. I restart the app every 30 minutes, but even then the device sometimes doesn’t function and therefore i have to restart the app manual again.

How do you make a flow that restart an app?

Turn on Power User experiment here first:

excellent!

Strange.

Did I rush into updating to 1.5.5?! Restarting the app didn’t help me. Repair worked, but it seems only for … hours. After that, I had to repair and restart again

same for me, seems to work pretty OK but yesterday I had to restart the app.

Same here. Works for about 24-36 hours en then have to restart the app again.

Unfortunately, it seems that there is still a strict rate limit active on the Tuya servers, which explains why some people in different intervals see that the app stops working. There isn’t anything immediate that can be done to solve that at this time, we are hoping that Tuya relaxes the limit soon so that those issues will be resolved as well.

I saw a crew of tuya also writing something about that on the open issues at the github. There are to many request for fresh token if i’m not mistaking.

Thanks for the update. Is that limit per user or across the entire Homey user base? If it’s per user, does an app restart reset the limit or does that require a repair of a device?

Andy

Probably per user, since it’s an unofficial API that’s not specific to Homey

Because it’s not a fixed interval when the app doesn’t respond, I created an control flow which checks if the app has stopped. I used a spare Tuya socket for this.

Strange thing is that Tuya devices on Google Home seems to work fine.

You don’t need a real device. Open the Tuya/SmartLife mobile app, click + → Scan QR Code and scan this QR:

You will now get a virtual switch device that you can use (add as Plug in Homey)

Great. I will try this at once. THX
