Hi Robin,
thanks
Works fine.
Just a small cosmetic thing.
Could you please add a icon for the battery state, too
Thanks
v3.1.6 ready for testing: https://homey.app/a/com.gruijter.zigbee2mqtt/test/
Just tried to install the app but it will not connect to my MQTT broker, it states:
Error: MQTT settings OK, but no Zigbee2MQTT bridge info found.
Tried this on 2 homey’s, same broker though. The app runs fine on my SHS thought that has been running since mid-december. It feels like there is an issue with the creation of the bridge as this would explain why my SHS instance is still working.
In homey, you must a a bridge device first. Device > Add > Zigbee2MQTT > Bridge
Actually this means that the Mqtt broker does not get messages from Z2M. Did you read the setup instructions in the first post? You need to have a zigbee dongle and the Z2M software (not the Homey app) running first.
Sorry i wasn’t clear.
I have a MQTT broker with Z2M running, i have Homey SHS with the Z2M app running linked to the MQTT broker and this works flawless.
I wanted to also have the Z2M app on my backup homey (2019) but while your app sees the broker it will nog connect. the same applies to my DEV homey (2018).
Ok. You need to check if Z2M is connected to the broker, and if it is publishing to the default topic. The Homey message says that it can connect to the MQTT broker, but that it cannot find the Z2M topic that is supposed to be there. So you are almost there ![]()
You can use mqtt-explorer (Windows) to see what topics are active on your mqtt broker.
or any other platform
Hi, is it possible to use your app to pair a Sonoff with Homey Pro and run the firmware updates?
No. Homey is not able to perform OTA, although there’s plans to implement it one day.
For now, to update OTA you’ll need (for instance) a separate zigbee2mqtt server and a zigbee dongle, see first post.
Second, this app can’t pair zigbee devices.
It ‘connects’ with Zigbee devices, which are paired with a zigbee2mqtt server, per MQTT.
If I buy this hub, can I update my Sonoffs and reintegrate them into Homey?
No, no Tuya please.
For zigbee2mqtt server, you’ll need a zigbee2mqtt compatible dongle, like f.e. a Sonoff ZBdongle-P or -E
You can run zigbee2mqtt (temporary) relatively easy by starting a downloadable virtual Home Assistant instance (VirtualBox/VMware) on a PC/laptop, and install the zigbee2mqtt addon to it.
The zigbee USB dongle should be allowed to connect to the VM.
I understand that your solution is more suitable… but I need something simple.
Isn’t this Tuya hub able to connect the Sonoff to the eWeLink Android app and allow it to be updated? Then I’d go back to using Homey Pro.
maybe create a new thread where you ask how to update a tuya zigbee device.
not a lot of people have a zigbee2mqtt running.
Probably more people have the same question and even maybe a solution
Hello Robin, this is great work and a fantastic app. Thank you.
I am currently testing the app on my SHS to set up a Zigbee network (as well as Z-Wave and Thread) that is independent of Athom. I am also using this in parallel in HA and the existing HP23. So far, everything looks good. Zigbee is running thanks to your app, and Z-Wave is being tested.
Now my question: is there an option for the app to also integrate Z-Wave and Thread via Mosquitto? That would be my ultimate goal. Currently, the latter two would probably only be integrable via MQTT as a hub and the Mosquitto client. However, a combination with your app would be more elegant. Do you already have any ideas or thoughts on this? The app listens to Mosquitto, regardless of whether it’s Zigbee, Z-Wave or Thread. The question is how this will be implemented further and how you could extend the app to include the other two waves.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Nope. No plans or intention to add that.
O. K.: Thank you. Your app is still great, though.
Next best option imho: connect the HA z-wave and Thread devices to Homey by the Home Assistant community app.
Thank you, that is currently the only and best solution. Especially because of the summary of compounds.
