I tried to test the link between homey and yolink apps by pulling on the cable, and keeping it at this reduced depth for a short while, Yolink reported a drop in depth to 0.9m but Homey was flat. I tried to fix the connection via the maintenance option from the device settings page but that did the opposite: now the device has an error state.
I tried to re-add the device and I was surprised that this device type is no longer an option? I’m on the latest test version of today (0.16)
I have a leak sensor newly installed, but in both the Yolink app and the Homey app they are stating the device is off line. I do not have a Yolink hub because I was under the impression that my Homey Pro would act as the hub. Can you advise?
Unfortunately the problem with triggers not showing in Homey (but in the Yolink Android app and Home Assistant they do) persists.
I wasn’t able to pinpoint a probable cause or circumstance that might cause this.
Were you able to find anything?
I have sent you some fresh logs.
Also, see the latest screenshots here:
Appreciate the response. When I read the app description I presumed that no yolink hub was necessary after the user access ID and secret code were input into Homey Pro.
Sorry, I can’t see anything. It all appears to be working as far as I can see. My motion sensors haven’t missed anything and they are triggered very regularly as we walk around the house.
Hmm, strange…
Must be a Homey / app problem since the HA integration is working fine, I would say?
Meanwhile I have set notifications on triggers from both the Yolink Homey integration and the HA Homey integration. Perhaps I can pinpoint the situation a bit if I notice it right after a notification is coming from the HA integration, but not from the YoLink one.
Feel free to let me know if you do think of probable causes of ways to test and/or pinpoint the problem.
I am using the latest test version and all devices were connected and working. I had a power outage from a thunderstorm and when everything came back online no YoLink devices connected.
I restarted the YoLink Hub and restarted the Homey Pro but nothing is connecting.
I tried the repair option and nothing was working so I ended up uninstalling the App and adding it again. I was able to add my devices as usual without problems.
There is one device not available to add and that is the Power Strip YS6801-UC, it does not show when adding plugs.
Sometimes a fresh start clears thing up, thanks for your work on this great App.
I purchased the outdoor contact sensor for my mailbox, without a hub. Do I need a hub? Where do I find the secret? Is there documentation on this integration with Homey Pro?
If you don’t want to buy a hub, the only other way to do it (and it wouldn’t involve this integration at all), would be to also buy a YoLink relay and then have the output of the relay trigger another device that integrates with Homey or some other platform you have integrated with Homey. One key advantage of this is it is 100% local. The disadvantages are that you need three devices for one sensor input and you can only setup a D2D connection between two YoLink devices.
YoLink has the ability to setup D2D (device to device) connections. So you could pair the contact sensor to the relay directly and anytime the contact sensor opened or closed, it would turn on or turn off the relay. The contacts of the relay could then close the contacts of a zigbee contact sensor for example.
I did this for my community mailbox since the range of the hub turned out to be much less than a D2D connection between a YoLink contact sensor and a YoLink relay. Unfortunately for me, I had to abandon this becuase Canada Post contacted me and said I could not have a monitoring device in my community mailbox
I am getting authentication failed adding the outdoor contact sensor. I uninstalled the app, installed it, removed the sensor and added it again. It is online and showing open/close on the Yolink app. How do I troubleshoot this?
If you have a Homey Pro, can you open the app settings page and select the Log tab. Make sure the log is enabled and then try to add the sensor. If you get the authentication failed message, go back to the log and hit Send Log.
