[APP][Pro] WeatherFlow's Smart Weather Station

Very sad to hear that, good luck for you and thanks for your efforts, I hope someone will take over app development.

Is it possible to add the W/m2 as measurement tag and as well to the Homey insights?
I would like to use the W/m2 data to compare it with my solar production in order to monitor the aging of my solar panels.

I’m pretty sure that doesn’t make any sense. Why?
– the solar panels of the weather station will also age
– factors such as sun reflections, diffuse light, shadows are irregular. Sometimes such factors will have more influence on the solar system, sometimes more influence on the weather station. There is no linearity

Or do you have well-founded information that it makes sense?

You have a good point with the aging of the Tempest panels, I didn’t realise that.
At the moment I’m using a conversion factor to calculate the W/m2 from the brightness measurement and already see quite an offset between the W/m2 and solar production on clouded days with a lot of diffuse light. It seems that the Tempest is dealing better with diffuse licht that my solar panels.

Does anybody know if this works on the homey pro 2023?

Yes it works perfectly.

Thank you @Jumeira . Good to hear. It is very important for me. And i read that the developer stopped supporting it. So glad to hear it is still not broken.

I thought so before, but i discovered that other community members are taking care of the app.

Aaaah. That’s great to hear. That set my mind at ease.

Hello, incase anyone with a new Homey Pro 2023 has an issue discovering devices , this post #149, sept 22 ?? works. A soon as i did it through the phone app it worked

Thanks

Hi everyone, I’m a lucky new owner a tempest weather system. The system is up and running and I can get the data within the Android app and the web.
But unfortunately adding the system to my Homey runs into the error message “Network request failed”. This appears even before I’m able to select the system.
Do you have any advice for me?

Edit1: interesting… adding the system via web didn’t work, via Homey Android app it worked

The Tempest has a sepatrate sensor at the top for solar radiation, see: Tempest Weather System | WeatherFlow Tempest Inc.
So it is not related to its solar panels measurements. Would this help you to reconsider adding the w/m2 measurements to the Homey app data?

Is there any chance we can get access to the Dew Point in the app? id like to have my AC turn on when the dew point gets high but there doesn’t seem to be a way to get access to that reading. is it possible to provide support for dew point?

I thought the flow would be pretty straightforward with turning my lights off. But it’s not working. Is it just reading for the first time it goes above 2300 lux rather than all the other times new data comes through?

You indeed need to take the card literally, it only triggers when the luminance becomes greater than 2300lx, if it is already above 2300lx then it doesn’t become greater than 2300lx, it already is.
If you want the flow to trigger with every change you’ll need the trigger “Luminance has changed” with an AND logic card “[TAG] is greater then …”

Perfect. Thanks. I missed the ability to check for a change in luminance and did a quick review of logic. Seems to work great now.

Hi Everybody!

I’m considering to order a Tempest Weather System from WeatherFlow. I have HP Early 23, and seen that this app was updated two years ago. Is there any developer still behind? Will it work? Can I add to my system?

Thanks!

It works fine on the HP2023.

No problems at all, works fine.
Nevertheless it would be really nice if there is another developer who can overtake the development of this app. In Home Assistant for example the weather forecast is also available.

Thanks @DirkG & @Martijn_C !

Unfortunately the EU version is out of stock now… I have to wait… :frowning:
