[App][Pro] Wear OS Controller for Homey

Wear OS Controller

Your smart home, right on your wrist.

Put your most-used Homey devices and scenes one tap away on your Wear OS watch. Dim

the lights from the couch, open the garage from the driveway, or run “Goodnight” from

bed — no phone, no menus.

- :house: Control anything - lights, locks, thermostats, blinds, switches.

- :clapper_board: Fire your scenes - trigger any Homey Flow with a single tap.

- :watch: Tiles on your watch face - your top actions, one swipe away.

- :control_knobs: Built your way - pick what goes on the watch, and in what order.

Private by design: no cloud, no account. Your watch talks directly to your Homey
on your network, every command is signed, and locks can sit behind a PIN.
This Homey side only provides the bridge between your Homey and your watch. It does unlock trigger cards to start flows.

Getting started: install this app, open its settings for a pairing code, and scan
it with the companion Android app. Needs a Homey Pro plus the free Android phone +
Wear OS watch apps from Google Play.

Homey Watch Control - Apps on Google Play

If you want to participate in the Closed Testing please send me a DM with your play store mail adres. I hope it wont be long before I get it through the play store review etc.

The app also support sending sensor data back from your phone to your Homey, this means you can detect if your phone is in Do Not disturb or if it is plugged or locally connected to Homey and use this info in your flows.

New: Device statusses are now visible on your watch, they are lazy retrieved to save battery life of the watch.
New card type: Insights select one or more insights to create a card that creates a nice graph of those inisghts right on your watch face.

Right the app is in android play store but still in closed testing track. Now I need enought testers to be allowed to publish to production.
So please please send me a DM and ill add you to the closed testing channel.

I’d be happy to test it out
DM sent

Hi, could I be added to the test channel please.

Thanks

Can I test it please?

The app is now public live in the Homey app store, so thats one.
The Android versions still requires more testers to participate.
So keep comming
And please send the google play store email as part of the DM

I opwuld be happy to test.

Thanks!
Testing it now.
Will let you know if I run into issues somewhere

Hello @Kaoh .

I have a google pixel watch 4 that is running wear os on the watch, but isn’t using the wear os app on my phone, but the watch app. Can i still use the wear os controller?

Yes, it uses the base wearos data share between watch and phone to manage and connect. No watch apps by vendors are used

I would like to test it

send me the PM with your play account

Major release comming up in two days. I can submit the android apps for public release then if everything goes right.
I will also bump the versions to 1.0 with new fetures comming:

  • State awareness, the tiles now show the control states
  • reorder the caps/states on the tile
  • add combined state tiles for multiple caps from multiple devices
  • create insights graph based on multiple multiple devices
  • all tiles can be linked to a glance card (6 of those are available)
  • UI polish to make the app more proffesional

I wait till google allows me to apply for pulbic release, then I publish the new version

Insights and states only get updated when the phone and homey need to communicate or at the latest of 15 minutes, so they can be a bit stale but that is to prevent the watch from being updated to often and draining its battery

Hi tester, thanks for registering. We hit the enough tester for long enough period threshild by Google, so I applied for public release permissions now.
This would not have been possible without you all, thank you.

To celebrate I just pushed a complete new build to the stores.
Make sure you install the test channel version of the Homey app.
Then update your mobile phone version and rebuild your cards, its a much nicer experience now. It also includes a state card and insights card now where you can get combined device caps in a single cards with their last known state (on/off etc) and the insight card give a nice way to combine multiple insights into a combine graph on your watch.
It is now possible to assign all cards to the tiles (the glance panels of the watch) in one of the tile slotes A-B-C-D-F-G.
It also includes more phone sensors to be made available to Homey.
Battery, DND, charging, headphone connected, ringer mode.
Another special one is: On home network this cap event tells your homey device if the phone cna reach the Homey through the local connection if you enabled that. This can be usefull in presence detection also.
