[App][Pro] Viessmann App for Homey Pro

Indeed, we have different values from other regions. Even within Belgium, we have differences. These differences are defined by the origin of the gas fields. The “calorific values” will be anywhere between 9,53kWh/m3 and 11,7kWh/m3. This is a 20% difference in calories / volume.
(This however does not account for the differences in the app)

Is it normal that values are empty in flows:

No

Hey Kenny,
was very happy see the update
First feedback from my that there are currently no data available. Is there a need to add the vitocal again?

Thanks in advance!

I’ve discoverd a bug in the power consumption for heating. The other power consumption values should work correctly though. v0.8.2 should fix it for the heating.

In which part of the flows is this? I don’t directly see where it is, so I can try to reproduce it and attempt to investigate/fix it.

In any advanced flow, we can put input values for any card and choose a tag. When I click on tag I can find my viessman device created by your plugin, it list all the tag but all values are empty.

I just checked the values and now for energy heating there’s a value. But it doesn’t change since new new version is installed. Seems like it grabbed the value when vissmann app got updated and stays stable now. Check in viessmann app and there changed continuously.

Can I do anything to support you?

Strange, at my side they appear to give values:

As I looking at the correct location?

Some values are empty - they are the target temperatures - I don’t think they should be part of it, I’ll try to look if I can hide them from the advanced flows.

I don’t know why, but I check and now it is ok, I have values.

I can’t see power consumption for my Vitocal 300-G. Do I have to do anything to get that working?

Hey @Sundlof,

For Vitocal devices it really depends on which generation of device you have. The modern devices report power consumption, even heating / hot water separately, the older devices don’t appear to provide this power information.

As I’ve received many features.json files already, I don’t recall if you provided me with one, and/or if your device reported the details. If you want I can double-check it to validate if it is an error in the app, or if your device effectively does not report it.

Kind regards,

Dear Kenny
Many thanks for making that app, am super happy with it, just saw it yesterday, it works smoothly for me, the results I see in Hdasbords , am trying everything an.

Okey,
I had my installed 2 years ago, I don’t know if that is new or not. I will provide a json.

Hello guys,

I’ve just released v0.9.1, it is submitted for certification and should land later today.

I’m trying to finish up open points so that I can bring out v1.0.0, this version bump will introduce a breaking change. The legacy (non-generic) devices which were supported in v0.3.0 and earlier will be removed from v1.0.0 onwards.

This should only impact people from the first hour who have been using the app.

Any suggestions, ideas, missing features are welcome. I think I did not forget anything here, but I’m not sure :).

Kind regards,

Hey @Sundlof,

As send by PM too, your device does not expose the power metrics by means of the Viessmann official API.

I’ve seen this with multiple Vitocal devies already, only a very limited subset provides them. It was my impression that these are typically the newer devices. These are typically the devices where there is not “type:legacy” inside the installations.json file, but I’m not fully sure yet about this statement.

Probably they expose it (for their own Vicare app) behind a non-public API… or something else…

Kind regards,

Hey guys,

I’m happy to announce that today I’m releasing v1.0.0 of the app.

UPDATE: it became v1.0.2 due to some publishing issues

What has changed?

  • BREAKING: All deprecated (i.e. the legacy non-generic devices) have been removed.
  • A few minor additions for Vitovalor devices.
  • Translations for all languages Homey supports, in this way:
    • For German, I would like to thank Hubi2k and AKRAMO1966 for provided a lot of the translation work.
    • For other languages, the translation is done by the machine translator of CrowdIn, probably not perfect, but suggestions are still possible using CrowdIn!

What does this mean?

  • I do believe that the app is currently stable enough for everyone to use.
  • The basic functionality is supported for Vitodens, Vitocal and Vitovalor devices.
  • From now on, there will be no more breaking changes. Everything will always occur in a backwards compatible way.

What does this not mean?

  • I will certainly stay dedicated towards this app! I want to invest more in it to make it better and better.
  • There will still be features added, based on suggestions from your guys or things I personally think are missing.

I really hope you all enjoy the app, let’s together work on making it even better!

Lastly, I would like to say a special thanks to everyone who supported me from the early adaptors who struggled together with me to get it up-and-running, the persons who helped me with the German translations, but also everyone else who provided me with valueable feedback.

Thanks guys!

Kind regards,
Kenny

Oeps

Just installed the app and very impressed with it. Thanks for the effort.
I was wondering if there is the possibility to feed the room temperature of each circuit to the system via another device and so bypass the need of a Viessmann thermostat (>400euros).
