This should work for generic zigbee devices as of v10.1.0, with the (sad and too easy) disclaimer if supported by the device.
I’d contact Athom Support anyways for this issue.
Hmm thats wierd, I am on 12.2.0 and the generic does not support power monitoring, but to answer my own question about another app, i found that the Nous app supported power monitoring so now the plugs work 
I also see now that i forgot to paste the link to the wall plugs…
