I don’t think the fact that the trial period expired is the cause for Tuya to stop working.
My Tuya devices were working just fine. To see if my battletron lights would start working, I checked the trial and noticed the trial period expired quite a while ago. I requested to extend and the next day it was extended.
Weird that for me this is still working. For the people that have issues: any of you also still have a non expired trial?
After renewing the trial period everything still worked. I had no issues whatsoever. This was an attempt to see if it would make the battletron lights better controllable
I have received some info with one of the cards on image 2 so I think I can go further with that.
I have added a Zigbee Tuya sensor via Tuya cloud to Homey and did not set any card for that to get info but I get every few minutes all kind of unwanted info from the sensor in my Homey timeline.
No idea why because there is no automation set in Tuya and not in Homey.
Works again for me. I did renew the iot core on Tuya Developer site a while ago, not sure if that did the trick. Restarted the Tuya Cloud app and it started working again
Hello,
i also have problems with all the devices in the Tuya app that won’t work anymore with my Homey since yesterday evening. looking at the experationdate is say’s “in service”
Where can i find “extend trial period” ? i even thought i payed for this application
Thanks Marcel
How do you exactly renew?
I simply cannot find that option…
My tuya devices also stopped working since yesterday, they work in the tuya app but stopped in Homey.
A restart of Homey or only the Tuya app has no effect.
I found and apply for an extend, now waiting if this fixes the problem…
My HA was actually a bit clearer in the cause, here I got the following error:
Failed to retrieve device list. Error 28841002: No permissions. Your subscription to cloud development plan has expired.
I really considering to replace my tuya devices, why is tuya not allowing to connect to the API without this fuss, just retrieve a key and connect, other brands have no issues with API keys…
The cause is the expiring, I extended but this could take a while.
I created a second account and matched this new account to my tuya app login, I updated the new detail in Homey and it worked again. (you are allowed to have 2 different api accounts connected to 1 tuya app account)
So yes it is the expiring issue, I have no idea if the gonna renew and how long this renewal proces is gonna take and how often you may renew…
I think I am gonna try to switch as much as possible to other devices outside the Tuya cloud, this simply ‘sucks’.
Maybe Athom could or should add this app officially to it’s portfolio and purchase for all Homey users the needed access rights to prevent this kind of things.
The other one does not support everything and is much harder to setup…
Also it is not the APP what is causing thi but the Tuya policy, you need to pay Tuya if you want to use the Tuya cloud. For a homey developer this is unpayable (believe 55.000 dollar per year) to get more access to the tuya cloud services…
Athom maybe could buy a license for all there users or Tuya may have other/better options to smarthome platforms integrations.
