[APP][Pro] TP-Link KASA LAN - Smart Plugs and Bulbs (WIFI)

I’ve found that the app discovers HS103 plugs but not HS105 plugs, though I can add HS105 plugs individually by IP address. Also, enabling the option to use dynamic IP addresses is not working, at least for HS105. I haven’t tested it for HS103.

Yes, this is expected, I would need to write an individual driver for it or rewrite the app, which I don’t intend currently.

Can you maybe share logs, when the socket becomes unavailable, while dynamic addresses having enabled ?

Thanks for your quick response. I’m very new to Homey, so I will do a few more tests of the dynamic IP address option and see if I can generate the logs.

Just following up… I’m I missing something?

Please just read few messages above…

Read through a lot of the forms must have missed that part. Seems like everyone stuck with the old hardware working in the new hardware not being updated in order to connect or be discovered.

I just bought some KS205P3, which I think these are in the HS200 model line. When I put in the IP Address for these switches directly, I also get the “connect econnrefused …” error. Is there a solution for this?

Todd,

Could you share how you got the KS205 switch to add to Homey? I have tried Matter, and the Kasa Smart Official Homey App. Neither method seems to see the switch. The Community App, with a direct IP connection gives an “ECONNREFUSED” error, as noted by others above.

I would say that matter is definitively the way.

@Sharkys, I did try Matter, so I must have done something wrong. After typing in the code it just said no devices found. Do the switches need to be added to the WiFi network first, via the Kasa app, and then added to Homey via Matter? Are there distance considerations for Matter? These switches are about 50 ft away from the Homey through exterior walls, but very close to a WiFi access point and have good WiFi connectivity.

I would say so but have zero experience with Matter, best is probably to follow Athom guidance - https://support.homey.app/hc/en-us/articles/9075551662108-Matter-for-Homey-Pro-Early-2023

Hi, I just wondered if it’s possible to add the Tapo P304M Smart Plug Power Strip, Energy Monitoring, MATTER, I’ve installed the power strip into Homey but there’s no power monitoring, your seems the only app in Homey which is close to HA tp-link app

This integration is KASA, not TAPO unfortunately, you can try it with alternatives - Homey App Store
