[APP][Pro] Tesla Smart Charger

Donated for a cup of coffee (or maybe a beer) :smiley:
Thanks for the hard work @balmli

I lost all the battery information in my Tesla 3 unit and the location information a few days ago. All that is left is the inside and outside temperature. Is this part of the latest location fix that is on it’s way? Any tips on other things to test? I have refreshed the tokens, unistalled an installed the app and unit.

Same here - and even worse. The car stays awake all the time. Lost over 15% since yesterday.

The Tesla Owner REST API, which this app utilizes, is scheduled for deprecation in January 2024.

Consequently, this app will cease functioning at that time and will be subsequently removed from the Homey app store.

That’s not good news. If I understand you correctly, there will be no new app to replace it?

So there’s no plan for using the proxy included in the SDK that can convert the REST API calls?

It’s not only the request conversion. The whole auth process is new.
A website url is needed to get the oAuth token. I’m not sure if localhost is allowed or if it’s designed for cloud hosting only.
And you need an public key that is published to the car where you have to allow access.
These are the obstacles you have to solve and that needs a complete new framework. So it’s the best to create a new app.

Ok. Thanks for the explanation. The question is, will there be a new app as well? I’m really curious about that.

Volunteers step forward! :grin:

@balmli
Are you willing to create a new app? Reading your last post it sounds as if you don’t want to continue.
I’m thinking about to register at the new API and check how it’s working…

@RonnyW

There’s no need for an entirely new app. But the app needs a REST API or something, e.g. running the tesla-http-proxy in Docker.

There are costs, both for operations of such a service, and Tesla will probably start charging for their API.

What do you think would be an acceptable monthly subscription fee for each user of this app?

Is 1 euro suffecient?

I thought about creating a new library the app can use. Then every client should be able to call the TeslaAPI without a proxy (if I read right).

Ok, then I start registering @ Tesla and try to get oAuth to work - I never uses the Homey oAuth before, so… :crossed_fingers: :smile:

Am I the only one where the car has stopped reporting battery status and all other information except temperature? I have deleted the car and added it again, I have restarted the app. Refreshed the token. MCU 1 Model X

Read up the thread, significant changes are happening

Yeah, but those should not be coming before January…

I wouldn’t put it past them to start early

What version of the app do you use? And what software version on the car ?
