Version 2.0 brings a lot of new functionality (new flow cards, a Party QR widget, group volume fixes, much faster search), so before it goes live for everyone I’d love to have as many people as possible testing it.
Hi Chris, thank you for sending feedback. They are showing on my app, so I cannot recreate the issue myself. Could you therefore please tell Lethe music service you are using to which those albums belong? And could you please turn on debug logging in the Homey app, run a diagnostics report. After that, perform a search in the widget again and run another diagnostics report. Thank you for your help!
I’ve integrated my albums with Plex and tested the whole thing again. The covers are displayed in the player but not in the search widget (BDW: podcasts are displayed correctly).
Turns out Music Assistant 2.9 changed how it serves artwork, and the widget was still using the old address. Providers with public image URLs (radio, podcasts) kept working via a fallback, but Plex covers aren’t public, so they came up blank.
Fixed in v2.0.4, now on test:
Mind updating and letting me know if the Plex covers show up? (Bonus: it also squashes a radio-from-flow error along the way.)
@Cyril_Hendriks The most recent update has broken announcements for me. They are now noticeably slower to start and a single trigger of a flow card to make an announcement on one of my speakers now makes the announcement twice with 5-10s gap in between. When I run a single test card in advanced flow to check this, I can see the Speak card does not complete until the duplicate announcement has been made.

Test version now only speaks once (thank you!), although still with a much longer delay than before. I notice they did make some changes to announcements in the latest stable version of Music Assistant which I have installed, so that might well be the cause of the extra delay I guess (even though that was meant to make it faster apparently).
@Jonathan_Draper thanks for the diagnostics! The duplicate announcement should be fixed now, your log only shows one announce call per trigger and no errors anymore
The clipping at the start/end I can’t reproduce unfortunately. I tested on an AirPlay speaker with all the announcement flow cards, with the new setting both on and off, and it all sounded fine. So it might be something specific in your setup.
Would it be possible to send a screenshot of the flow that gives the problem? I’d like to see which card you use and if there are multiple announcements going to the same speaker (or grouped speakers) at about the same time, that could cause it.
It would also help to know which speakers it happens on, and if it also clips when you play the same text from Music Assistant or Home Assistant directly. If it does there as well, it’s probably not the app. You could also try the “Speak text with options” card with the chime enabled to see if that makes a difference.
And if you can, could you also send the log from Music Assistant itself (Settings > System > Logs) from right after you trigger one announcement? That shows what Music Assistant does with it and how long it takes, which the app log doesn’t show.

I think it’s already mentioned before, but would it be possible to select eg a playlist or radiostation via a widget. The search works great, but I noticed I was missing the browse option. Just lazy me!
Thanks @Cyril_Hendriks - when I had the issues with this test release I was actually testing with a single card flow using the plain speak card. I’ve since found all my normal announcements are working fine now. The test card was using a speaker in a room I don’t so often use and it’s possible that was just a wifi connection issue. I will keep an eye on it with all the other rooms but right now all working fine.
The widget now contains a browse page, that mimics the Discover page from your Music Assistant. any changes on that page in MA are reflected now in the widget. Hope you like it!
Wow that’s nice indeed! Hihi maybe I overlooked something. In MA I marker in these categories several as favorites. Is it possible just to show my favoriets and pick just something to play?
