[APP][PRO] Samsung Wireless Audio Multiroom

I tried to connect my Samsung HW-Q930B/XN to the homey pro (early 2023) following your instructions without succes and noticed my divice is not mentioned in your list. Do you think there is a work-around or could you maybe fix this?

I have Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar. Is it still supported? When I try to install this it says its not compatible with Homey version. How do I get it to work?

Test the HW-Q96R. It is the same product, diffferent name. Also port 56001 as 55001 stopped working for me.

HW-Q96R is the one I have. Im not sure about this but do I need a bridge to get this to work. I only have Homey app and tried to connect to Samsung Multiroom app from Google Play. I also tried with the Desktop Multiroom app but I cant connect. Could you please explain what app should I download and explain in steps on how to do it. I have never done like this before and some frusturated as dont understand the process? Thanks in advance

You need a Homey Pro. It is not approved by Samsung to run on the cloud so you need the physical device. Not sure if this answers your question.

If you only want to control it as a remote with your phone, then Samsung SmartThings is the official app.

If I get Homey Pro. Would I be able to get Atmos to work via WiFi? To bad its very expensive. For that cost and add a little bit more on top of it I could get the HW-Q995D soundbar. Would I be able to use Atmos via WiFi with Samsung Q90R 4K TV 2019?

Hi. I think you confuse the technologies a little bit. Understandable as it is no longer plug and play these days. Atmos will work if the source has that included. Over Wifi/bluetooth or hdmi. The challenge is to get it to work with hdmi or finding a service that has Atmos. I know Netflix and Disney has it. Spotify and Youtube do not. Your TV should send atmos yes, as it has HDMI 2.1 with eARC if I remember correctly. I am not sure what you want to play from a TV over wifi? Is it music or you want video playing with audio going through wifi? I don’t think that is possibe. And with bluetooth I think the sound will be stereo only. You really need cable to get atmos from movies. For music perhaps Apple music or Tidal can play Atmos over Bluetooth. But lets be honest, most songs are not mixed with atmos yet.

(to be clear, Homey do not play anything to the speaker, it works as a remote or send commands to what the soundbar should play over wifi and from what source, Spotify, hdmi etc.)

Here is how to enable atmos on samsung TV 2019

I use Dolby Atmos mostly for movies playing it on Windows with MPC-HC and MadVR. Im very satisfied that way. I recently got a TIDAL HiFi subscription and I wanted to play Atmos tracks aswell. The TIDAL desktop app does not support Atmos playback but on my phone Galaxy S23U Atmos content does appear as an option but you really cant enjoy Atmos like on a multi channel soundbar and besides playing from phone to headset will be lossy because of Bluetooth bandwidth limitations. I wanted to stream from my phone if possible when I need to soundbar via WiFi because I think I would get better bandwidth and maybe play Hi-Res LOSSELESS tracks?

I am also interested, did you found a fix?

No devices are found on my ip! Is there any work around to fix this ?
