I just checked, but it is working as expected.
When switching the simulator “ON” it wil look in the history which event was before the current timestamp (a week ago). And switch the light’s ON or OFF if necessary.
2026-02-06 15:13:16 → Based on event at 2026-01-30 15:12:00
2026-02-06 15:13:16 → Changed: OFF→ ON
2026-02-06 15:13:16 2. 💡 Living room
I’ll publish a test version with debugging enabled, so you can view the logs and all events yourself. It’s on the settings page below tracked devices.
Some translations:
| Dutch |
Engels |
| Alle gebeurtenissen bekijken |
View all events |
| Logs verversen |
Refresh logs |
In both cases an additional view is shown with those details. After you enable the simulator you’ll see the reasoning for current actions and scheduled actions. They should match (you can verify in View all events).
In case it doesn’t work please let me know.
Test:
I tested it with the test version using one light, and it worked as expected.
The light was on from 19:14 to 19:16 last week. Today at 19:15 it was off. After activating the simulator at 19:15, it was switched on and then turned off again at 19:16.
I’ll test this with more lights over the weekend and report back.
Thanks for the effort and the test version.
No problem, I had all those debug stuff already in the app, but -to keep it simple- hid these functions in the live/final version.
I’ve been testing the app over the last few days, and thanks to the logs everything is working very well.
Is the test version functionally identical to the regular release version?
There’s only one thing, only an idea, left from the earlier discussion:
Ideally, the living room should switch on a few minutes before the lights in other rooms, so the simulated movement pattern throughout the apartment looks more natural.
Thanks again for the support.
The test and regular function are identical. The test version only has a visible debug section, which is hidden in the regular app.
I’ll look into that feature request later. Currently working on a Proxmox VE / PBS app as well.
