It depends on how the lease company works, mine is also a lease car but in my acocunt is it registered als my owned car. Not sure why some lease companies dont do this properly, but you are not the first with that issue.
Hi Kaoh, sorry to ask - has the access changed again? I have no updated charging information for the last day.
I am still getting updates, it charge now.
Maybe restart the app?
Thanks. I did before I messaged you with no success. Have looked just now and all seems to be working ok. Possibly something on my side. Regards. ![]()
Great app! And the widget is my favourite!
One question though; when I go to Devices and then Energy, the Polestar is listed. When charging it kinda looks like my household is consuming 10-11KW. With many devices there is this setting under Advanced Settings to exclude it from Energy. Since I mostly charge the car on the street I prefer to exclude it from the Energy view and I was hoping that you would consider adding this. Thanks!
Good question, I will put it on my list to figure out when homey shows this option
Yeah, but as told there: " This setting is provided to devices that have the meter_power or measure_power capability"
The Polestar car device has this capability but Homey doesnt provide the option, so why doesnt it show that setting?
Thats why I need to figure it out. My suspision is that I add these capabilities dynamically and not part of the driver compose object. So it might be more related to the section on that page:
" In some cases a driver doesn’t know upfront what the properties in the driver’s energy object should be. For these cases use Device.getEnergy()and Device.setEnergy() . You must provide the complete energy configuration to setEnergy() as it will overwrite all the existing properties."
There is probably a reason why they created this method, while we never needed this for capabilities before.
I now added a standard mapping to both capabilities (measure_power, meter_power) I just published. But no matter what it still doesnt show in the energy dashboard nor the exclude option shows up.
I think this new Homey feature is not fully added to all device classes yet or something.
At least I added a power meter that calculates the total power use of the car from now on. So thats a gain.

Hmm interesting. Will give 2.5.0 a try this week.
Recent posts suggest that the access/encryption issues have been fixed, though I’m still not getting through. It has worked for some time. In ‘debug’ I get three passes and a fail at each app restart.
- Polestar App has been initialized
- Polestar Driver CSV ᴮᴱᵀᴬ has been initialized
- Polestar Driver has been initialized
- Could not decrypt using salt, network connection changed?
Some error details; error:1C80006B:Provider routines::wrong final block length
Something I can do on my side? Good work with the app, by the way! Much appreciated!
I store the password encrypted based on some hashes i take from the active adapter of your homey. So if you use wifi and utp and debug mode you need to make sure you set the password while on the connection you run with. So if you set it while in debug mode, then stop debug mode decryption will fail, if you set it in normal mode while on utp and disconnect utp to work with wifi it will fail.
The error you shared suggests that this is happening.
How do I activate or end debug mode? I can simply see the debug notifications in the tab next to the login tab, in app settings. There is no switching happening between connections as far as I know, connected the Homey Pro with a network cable.
Sorry i thought you did based on your description. Debug mode is usb etc, just don’t go there ![]()
The error really tells that the sals are not working for the stored password, so use the repair method to set it again and see if it then works
Thanks, that fixed it!
Another question; the charging current (e.g. 16 A) seems to update way more frequently than the other statistics, even when the value is zero. In the Homey app, I open the Polestar ‘device’ and when I tap each of the stats, it shows when it was last updated. The last update of the charging current seems to be very recent (max. 2-3 minutes or so) when not charging (constantly 0 A).
This also impacts the use of the card ‘When charging current changes’, since it fires every few minutes (when not charging). PS: It seems to work fine when charging though, but not entirely sure. Since there is no ‘AND’ card available for ‘And charger is connected’, I’m bound to use a work around for this. Not really urgent, but good to know ![]()
I understand, it was by design to ensure power dashboards in Homey work better. I’ll give that a rethinking some time.
Hello, I have actually the same problem.
I cannot login in.
What can I do?
I can also not login in the app anymore. Someone same problem? Volvo stopped with his old API, maybe same for Polestar?
Still works for myself odd enough.
Please ask send diagnostic reports if you did not yet.
