Hi,

Using the NO API device
Not set to m/s
I’m using 1.5.5
There’s hardly a breeze, but device says
Can you please check the API data with you lat/lon and API key?
Just to be sure, the API is reporting the same data your are “feeling”
https://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?lat={lat}&lon={lon}&appid={API key}
I think your device is using km/h as value, but somehow the unit is not changed. Can you please change the setting to m/s, then store, then uncheck the m/s setting. Then check if the capability unit is changed to km/h.
That did the trick! Thanks.
Hi,
I need the aggregated rain in mm for a particular day. How much mm has it rained today. I want to store this number in a variable at 11:50pm every day.
How do I calculate the amount of rain in mm for a day using the openweather app. I have created 7 variables for each weekday. The idea is to run the irrigation program only if there was no rain for the last 3 days.
Thanks for your help.
Why don’t use the Weather, daily summary device and store the amount of rain at 00:05 am?
This device provides the values from the previous day.
Additional to Dirks answer…
You can select a day offset into the past or up to 4 days into future.
This way you can create a device for every day you want to get summarized data.
Hallo Ronny
HP23, V 11.1.0
V 1.5.5
Yesterday I noticed that my 3 Open Weather devices no longer work, red exclamation mark.
I have not made any changes in the last 3 months. I also could not find an error when checking the device settings. A restart of the Homey app did not help either. Later I discovered the attached mail in my inbox. Can you explain to yourself how it can be that I seem to have suddenly exceeded the limit of 1000 views?
Ps: Since this morning, all devices have been working again.
Only the location devices (current weather) are using the API.
But you are right. 3 devices calling every 5min makes 864 calls a day. I think that was an issue at OWM itself.
It seems there is an issue at OpenWeather server providing AirQuality data. The server provides an empty result. That’s why your devices are showing a “device unavailable” state:
@Sharkys FYI
Now Air quality is working … but nit the weather app ?
Please put some effort in your question to save the developer some time in helping you out.
Please explain what exactly is the problem (pointing to),
App crashes?
Weather sensor values are missing?
Weather senser values aren’t updated anymore?
and what did you try to solve it?
Pull the Plug
Restart App
Re-install App
And so forth
Eeeeh it was the dev self who wrote the air quality was not working right ?
So now i am just saying the quality is working … but now i have the error with the weather
So i think he knows what i mean
But for YOU i have added the screenshot below
Restarted homey and the app …. But that does not help if an app server is down right ?
So i gave all the info i think … just that the same is now happening to the weather … but quality is working … not sure what to say more
Can you please check the message shown in device details? Thanks.
Hi ronnie
Was just typing the reply.
Invalid Api … probably to do with the upgrade from 2.5 to 3.0. The mail from open wearher in that ended ip in my spam folder … so was not aware
So they are deactivating all 2.5 API keys now? I know it was announced but wasn’t sure when they will proceed.
June 2024, acc. this info.
Thx. So they are a bit late
Perhaps the do it in phases … not sure if that is logical
Same mail like the other guy … but different date
Thank you Ronny, I was trying to get some info prior to my diag. from their pages, but “all was green” … seems to be fixed now on their side.
