[APP][Pro] Mitsubishi WF-RAC - Cooling, heating and ventilation

Hi. I encountered a strange problem: all the commands I give through Homey, seem to be overruled by the app. I think it’s the app at least, but I don’t see any difference in the logging with the Smart M-air app.
For example, when I turn on the airco with a button or flow in Homey, the command is issued. But shortly after, the previous state is restored. This also applies to other commands. This has been happening recently; everything worked fine before. Below: the first 2 commands are issued in the MHI app, the third in Homey and the fourth is a mistery. Any ideas what could be wrong?

It’s an older issue: [APP][Pro] Mitsubishi WF-RAC - Cooling, heating and ventilation - Apps - Homey Community Forum

Perhaps it’s a result of the problem above.

I can also test a new (beta)version.

Apologies, I haven’t had the chance to look into this yet. I’ll need to delve a bit deeper to see what exactly is required. To do that, I first need to review the other posts and see if I’ll be able to manage it.

If there’s already a version available for testing, I can certainly quickly try it out in the meantime.

Same here, can test the beta.

Dear Edwin,

I installed the app and it does find my air conditioner, but after installation, Homey immediately indicates that the device is not available.

IP address is fixed.

I have a Mitsubishi heavy Industries SRK63ZR-W single split unit 6.3kW.

I have a WF-RAC Wifi module in the air conditioning.

I can control the air conditioner via the Smart M-Air app.

I have the Homey Pro (Early 2023).

Homey and the air conditioner are on the same network.

I’m new to the world of Homey and apps. If you need more information, please let me know.

Greetings, Lindsey

Hello Lindsey and welcome to this topic.

Several people are experiencing the same problem you describe. This is likely due to a new type of WiFi adapter supplied with new MHI air conditioners.

You can find more details here:

Thank you:)

Where could I see what kind of WiFi module I have?

Will there be a solution for the not working WiFi modules?

I just released a new test version in the Homey App store.

This test release supports secure connections, which you can enable / disable in the device settings.

I am not 100% sure this is the solution, but I added a bunch of device settings so debugging on your local machine / network will be easier if needed.

When adding a device, the app tries first to add the device via a non-secure connection, and if that fails via a secure connection. Like I said, this can be changed in the device settings. Check the availability of the device after a minute to see if it works.

Let me know if this works YES or NO. :folded_hands:

To start with, thank you for the work you have put into this new test version of the app. :folded_hands:t2:

I have installed it and am still getting the same error message. This happens also when I set secure connection to Yes and restart the app.

Additionally, I notice that the fields in the red box of the attached screenshot are not filled.

Are there any other matters I can look into or test for you?

That is because it cannot connect to the unit to get all the relevant data. The secure connection setting is also not set, which should be done automatically the first time it tries to connect.

It does have an IP address though, so it is found on your network.

Could you re-install the app, add ONE airconditioner, and immediately after send a diagnostic report?

I have the same as pvdven. Installed the Beta version. Removed both Airco’s and added them again. Same error after a few seconds (Device Unavailable). Manually ajusted the setting to Secure Connection: Yes. Same results after restarting the App.

Like @pvdven said: thanks for the work you put in this update to get it working for (the rest of) us
Same issues as described above, here is my report: d872e491-c429-477d-8f3f-bec413c7dff7

Can you all try again with the latest test version (1.4.1)?

For me 1.4.1 is working.. never working before this version thnx:tada:

Yes, now it works! The airco units show correct temperature readings and all functions seem to work well. Thank you for the update!

I now receive an Invalid Setting Type after adding the airco as a new device. I cannot change the settings to a fixed IP or secure connection, when I try to save it says again: Invalid Setting Type.

So for me it does not work yet with this new app release from Today

Just tested and it works! Thanks for your work and the update. :+1:t2:

I’ve got exactly the same issue, version 1.4.1
