[APP][Pro] Misol and Ecowitt (Release 0.2.10, Test 0.2.11 )

Hello,

Is it also possible to use ECOWITT WN1920 Console instead the listed gateways that live data is send to homey and weather portal?

The display is able to connect to WS90.

I got the WN34CL water temperature sensor for the pool. Looks like I need also a hub to communicate with homey? Which ones are compatible with sensor and homey?

It looks like it should work as it specifies the Customised server support:

Weather servers support: Wunderground; Weathercloud; ``wow.metoffice.gov.uk``; Customized (Homeseer; Homeassistant;)

I’m guessing it will work with any of their gateways as it suggest a GW1000 which is the most basic gateway they do:

4. Live Data: when the WN34L water thermometer paired with a GW1000

Didn´t find GW 1000 anymore. Is there replacement that would certainly work?

Any of these should be fine:

Hi,

Are the GW3000 WS68 and WH46D also supported? Can’t find them in the list.

The GW3000 is definitely compatible. The WH46D and WS68 might be compatible already, but if not, then send me the log from the app settings and I can easily add support for them.

Thank you, it works perfect

I have the following small issue. My devices are an Ecowitt WS3900, a WS85 outdoor station and 4 additional temperature sensors (Channel 1, 2, 3 & 4).

Added to Homey and all devices found and reporting data correctly. Except:

There is a Temperature and Humidity device found on Channel 0, which should probably report the values of the temperature and humidity values reported by the internal sensor of the WS 3900 display. But it reports the temperature and humidity values of the outdoor (WS 85) sensor instead. So I cannot read the internal sensor of the WS 3900.

Can you send the Detected Log from the app settings page so I can see what is being reported.

I just sent it.

So I would expect device “T&H Channel 0” to present the values of “tempinf” and “humidityin” but in stead it presents the values “tempf” and “humidity” for the outside sensor.

To see the data reported by the WS3900 you need to add a Gateway device.

That makes sense. So I just deleted the “T&H Channel 0” device and added “W3900A” as a gateway and it works.

A question, although a WLAN Gatawy is required, everything works locally and without Internet? What is the Gataway needed for?

If i am correct the devices like lightning sensor en rain sensor are talking to the gateway and the gateway is talking to Homey.

As @Mike1233 says, the devices use a wireless technology to talk to the gateway and the gateway pushes the information to Homey via WiFi/LAN.

The wireless range of the gateway is really good and reliable.

Okay, does that mean they still work if the Internet fails?

Some more information about the gateway and its wireless technology.
The gateway connects to Ecowitt devices via a frequency of 915, 868, or 433 MHz. The frequency to be used depends on the region in which the devices are used.
Unlike the 2.4 GHz WiFi frequency, the lower frequencies have a longer range, a more stable connection, battery-powered devices require less energy (= longer battery life), but they are not able to transmit as much data as WiFi. But this is not necessary for this application.

I’m pretty sure that Ecowitt devices will work with Homey even without an internet connection. However, it would be important to get confirmation from @Adrian_Rockall.

By the way, the gateway can also be integrated via MQTT. If you use a local MQTT broker, no internet connection is required anyway.

Yes, the connection is completely local, so the Internet is not required at all, just a local network.

Hi,

GW 1200 stopped sending temperature to homey 2 days ago. I did remove the gateway from Homey and was able to add it again to homey. Still not sending temperature or humidity to homey. Also watertemperature sensor paired. Both showing figures at ecowitt app, but not in Homey. What should I check next?
