A little over a week ago I showed the first prototype of bringing my Mikonus 3D home into Homey Dashboard.
Well… it escalated a little. 
Mikonus 0.3.0 is out now for iPhone and iPad
This is the first version that includes dashboard publishing, so your Mikonus home can now be published directly to Homey.
The Homey app is now ready for beta testing.
What is Mikonus?
Mikonus is an iPhone and iPad app for creating an interactive 3D model of your real home. You can scan your home with LiDAR or build the floor plan manually, add rooms, furniture and smart-home objects, and connect your devices to the places where they actually are.
Publishing dashboards to Homey is one of the new features introduced with Mikonus 0.3.0. You continue to create and edit your home in Mikonus, while Homey displays the published scene as an interactive dashboard.
Once published, simply add the Mikonus 3D widget to your Homey Dashboard. Your Homey devices appear at their actual positions in the house, including live states and controls.
How it works
1. Create your home in Mikonus
Scan it with LiDAR or build the floor plan manually.
2. Connect Homey locally
Connect Mikonus to your Homey on your local network. The current beta supports local Homey connections only.
3. Assign devices
Connect your Homey lights, blinds, sensors, thermostats and other devices to the matching objects in your 3D home.
4. Publish to Homey
Mikonus publishes the complete dashboard scene, including your device assignments, directly to Homey.
5. Add the widget
Add the Mikonus 3D widget to your Homey Dashboard — that’s it.
Changes you make later in Mikonus can simply be published again.
No Mikonus scene yet?
The Homey app includes a demo house, so you can install the widget and try the dashboard before creating your own home.
Beta
This is the first public beta, so I’m particularly interested in:
- installation or publishing problems
- devices that aren’t detected or displayed correctly
- performance on different Homey Dashboard devices
- things that are confusing or difficult to find
- device types you’d like to see supported
If something doesn’t work, a screenshot and a short description of what you were doing would be very helpful.
