[APP][Pro] Mercedes Me App (Release 1.0.3)

Can you confirm that the app has updated to 0.1.7 or 0.1.8?

Hi,

No i cannot, i cant find that version, where can i update it?

Ah OK, that explains it. The new software is currently in test so can be installed by adding /test to the end of the normal app store URL (https://homey.app/en-gb/app/com.mercedes_me/Mercedes-Me/test/)
I have submitted it to be released but that can take from 2 days to two weeks.

@Sjors_Alberts
just add test behind the app link on the app page of Mercedes Me.

Sorry, did not work for me. I came around all the way to saving id, secret and VIN. But no device found in Homey. Might add that no “experimental section” has been found in developer project setup.

did not find “experimantal products section”?

Sorry for the late reply.
It looks like Mercedes have removed that option recently, so I need to check the code to see if it is still required. I thought I had removed the dependency, in which case it shouldn’t matter.

When you see the page from Mercedes Me asking for permissions?
Have you subscribed to the services with Mercedes?
Can you try again just to make sure there is not a delay between configuring there services and them becoming available.

Thank you for your reply. Must have been a delay, as the car now has become a dwevive in homey. I can see lock status, SoC and such. now need to find a useful way to utilize the integration.
Is it possible to make signal if the ignition is on or something? wnat to find a way to make a flow that can register when the car arrives home, and open the garage door. I.e. when “person” came home, and ignition is on, then open garage door. something like that.

Sadly, no. Also, as there are limits on the polling rate, some events take a while to register, so not good for real-time notifications, etc.

I use it to remind me if I have forgotten to lock the car or left a window open when I go to bed.

Hi again. I have found different uses for this app now. One of the most useful is the one to open garage door when the car gets home.

Sadly, my Mercedes went today. I love my new car, but I hope Mercedes don’t change the API too much as I can’t test it so easily now.

Have fun with you’re new car👍🏻
Does it have an app

No app yet , but no API that I can find in Europe. It’s available in the USA so fingers crossed they bring it over.

@Adrian_Rockall sorry to bother you I’ve read that you sold your mercedes. However may be you can help my anyway. I’ve added the car and I do see in the homey timeline that my car eg. was locked/unlocked, so it seems to work somehow. However under the device I see the message “Coud not get OAuth2Client” → Repair. I’ve done the “Repair” multiple times and I was driving in the meantime, so the car was pinged for sure. Do you have any idea? I just sent you via homey the app log…
I’m using another mercedes dev app for the app evcc (nothing to do with homey), there the vehicle status works as it should (at least after using the car once). I was refreshing the status there every 2min, because I read you are not allowed to poll too fast. However I liftet that value now to 5min.

As far as I can see from the log, it is all working apart from one unknown capability, which shouldn’t cause a problem.
As far as polling speeds go, different sections have different limits, and the Homey app sticks to the limits. The log shows the limits:

VL: Limit 50/hour
2022-09-10T18:12:59.607Z:
FS: Limit 1/hour
2022-09-10T18:12:59.615Z:
OS: Limit 1/hour
2022-09-10T18:12:59.644Z:
EV: Limit 2/hour
2022-09-10T18:13:09.357Z:

As you can see, some sections are only allowed to be polled once per hour and even the fastest one is only 50 per hour.
If you are using the same credentials in another app then that could be clashing and using up the allowances on one or more sections, which will prevent one of the apps from getting data… I can’t see any issues with the OAuth2Client in the log, so I’m not sure where that is coming from.

Hm very strange then. I’ve created exactly because of the polling limits a second app in the mercedes dev portal:

I do see only the following error message

However the states will be reported:

The only thing I can suggest next is to delete the car, restart the app and try adding it again.

Ok, I deleted the Homey App and created an additional app on the mercedes dev portal. Then downloaded again your app on homey where I’ve added the information from the new mercedes dev app → on homey I got the mercedes callback where I could grant access to my car, but then only “token refresh issue”. I’ve restarted the homey app but no change, so I decided to switch back to the credentials of my first created dev mercedes app - and tada, I got some message about the wrong token, but after a homey app restart it works now…
EDIT: deletion and readding the car didn’t help initially, I tried that already

Some strange things going on there, but glad it’s working now.

Thank you for all your work with this app. I’m trying to monitor charge status of my Mercedes EQV, and chose “van” when adding the API:s to my project. I’m not getting any data although everything seems fine. Can the vehicle type affect the data acquisition? Any other tips?
