Hello everyone.
I can see that there are errors, but they are not explicit enough. I’ve just published a new version (1.5.3) with additional logs. Hopefully, this will be sufficient.
Thanks for your help ![]()
Hello Perre,
I have installed version 1.5.3. and made some moves in front of the cam ![]()
Hello, a new version is available.
In theory, it allows receiving notifications over HTTPS. This mode can be configured in the settings of cameras without an NVR, as well as in the NVR settings.
Hopefully this will be sufficient and will fix the issues we encountered.
Sadly, still doesnt seem to work for me. Deleted everything. re-added the NVR and enabled https in the settings. Turned the NVR on and added my cameras, turned them on but still don’t seem to pick up motion.
Live snapshot for the cameras work fine but the live Event snapshot never updates and never shows an image.
Hello,
If you can activate the NVR on Homey, it means that Homey is registering correctly on the NVR.
I’ll try one last thing, but after that I’m a bit stuck as I can’t reproduce the problem at home. According to ChatGPT, there is a setting somewhere to force notifications without HTTPS in recent firmware versions. But my NVR is too old, so I don’t have it.
I will have one last option, which is to make a long connection to the NVR. But I’d rather avoid that because of the memory and CPU load on Homey… Because that means a persistent connection via Camera and NVR.
Ok thanks for trying.
One other thing ive noticed when I click the drop down box on the camera ‘last even snapshot’ I get the following error.

Wait, what?! You recreated it on a camera from the NVR you set up recently?
Yeah , I re-created a few of my cameras (NVR cameras) . turned them on and they all do that
New version
Hi,
Deleted my NVR to start a fresh. Can add the NVR but when I go into the settings to turns on HTTPS I get the following error.
![]()
Hi. This is really amazing. Could you please send me screenshots of your NVR configuration for everything related to HTTPS? Thanks!
Sorry id turned off HTTPS in the NVR settings thinking that was the original problem. Turning it back on it now allows me to add the NVR and cameras.
I think we’re getting somewhere though as when I move in front of a camera now, it seems to crash the app.
Checked the live event screenshot and I get the following error.

Hi. I intentionally made a mistake.
All the errors I see on the Homey side occur when the built-in HTTPS server receives an HTTP event notification.
Disable HTTPS on the Homey side. If the app crashes, it means you are indeed receiving event notifications.
I don’t understand the error you’re showing me. I’ll look into it as soon as possible.
Ok,
If I try and add the NVR with HTTPS on the hikvsion side it won’t allow me to add it to homey. If I turn HTTPS off hikvision side I can add the NVR to homey.
On homey , NVR is on (https disabled) and camera is on the app doesn’t crash
OK, thank you for your feedback.
I assume you still don’t have any events?
I’m working on a new version where users will be able to choose between long connection and push. It’s a bit long and tedious.
I know why there’s an error on the image. It’s not a big deal, I’ll fix it later.
Yeah still no events unfortunately.
Hello, new version is available!
Initial support for long-lived connections to improve event retrieval (currently disabled, NVRs only for now)
Improved HTTP handling during the NVR onboarding process
Enhanced compatibility with recent NVR models, improving event reporting reliability
Hello,
Could you please test the new version by removing everything again (sorry about that)?
You should now be able to add your NVR without having to disable HTTPS on the NVR.
This version may also allow you to retrieve events (I really hope so).
Hi, No problem.
Ok ive tried that, turned HTTPS back on the NVR. NVR is successfully added. I still don’t get motion events with the push option in the NVR Settings.
When I try and turn on persistent GET option , it comes back with the error
![]()
I still also get the snapshot error when I click last event option
