[APP][Pro] Gree HVAC app

@Tuomas_Levoniemi @lars_rehnberg

I’ve added support of “8°C heating” mode to the latest test version (0.9.4).
You can find this mode near the “turbo mode”

Hello @DerMathiasNLD

Thanks for letting me know that V2 encryption works.

I suppose it should work, but who knows. Gree updates are black boxes.

Feel free to report any issues.

Hello @Bumbum

Please send a new diagnostic report using the latest test version(0.9.4) and post id here.

Are they constantly offline? or they may be online sometimes?

Hello @Dug703

From your first report (274c9c9a-4193-40a8-9552-e1c86bd3cc4f) I see issues most probably caused by the wrong encryption method set.

Base on your last report (73e3c0b1-c5dd-4f6d-af6e-3dcb7b93177c) I see that all good. Gree app is successfully interacting with HVAC.

If you still have issues,

  • install latest test version (0.9.4)
  • interact with HVAC using the remote/EWPE Smart app (I can see the interaction between the Homey Gree app and HVAC)
  • Send a diagnostic report and post it’s ID here

Hi All,

I’m new to using Homey, and would love to use the Gree app!
I’ve got a Tosot HVAC running Firmware V2.06 and can control it using the Gree+ app for android.
But if I try to add the device using the Homey Gree HVAC app it just says “No new devices found”
I am currently running the test version of the app (v0.9.4).(btw, nice to see the app being updated! Thanks @aivus )
Scince the device is not added, I can not change the encryption mode to change this.
Is there someone who has a similar issue? or am I doing something wrong?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hello @aivus,

I removed all units that were working from the system to isolate the 2 that were not. I entered debug mode, using V2 with the latest version 0.9.4.

I then turned each unit on with the Gree app, adjusted the temperature, then turned each unit off.

Thanks.

Doug

Hello aivus,

they are sometimes offline. The new diagnostics report is:cfd0a275-dac9-47c3-9cb4-cf8686093c37

thank you for your efforts!

@aivus , did these logs show any odd about the fact that those two controllers still show as offline with the V2?

I noticed that this issue was also raised two weeks ago with these wired controllers on the HA integration.

Thanks

Thanks for that V2. It works perfectly as before.

Hi @aivus

After the 0.9.5 update my device slaapkamer which worked after the experimental update wend offline.

Firmware V1.05

Gree Pular 2.5kW (working with test version)

Firmware V1.21 updated to V1.23

Hello.

Thanks for the update, it seems autodetection doesn’t work properly. I’ll rollback the update and try to fix the issue later

Hi

I saw that Gree app updated to 0.9.6 the slaapkamer (bedroom) airco is still offline. I have restarted the Gree app and changed the encryption back in the advanced settings to auto and back to V2 to force an update of the app.

My device was at firmware 1.21 but since stopped working I update the device to latest 1.23. My device in the living room has not been updated yet still working on firmware 1.05.

Hi,

Worked after 0.9.7 both devices are online

0.9.7 works fine on both devices (new and older). Thanks for that @aivus :+1:

One such thing came to mind, is it because of the application or the device itself that the temperature is not displayed in the Homey application if it is below -0 celcius degrees?

It works…Thank You!

Hello there,

@DerMathiasNLD and anyone who uses test version (0.9.7), please update (or just wait for autoupdate) to version 0.9.8 and let me know does it work for you or not.

It’s another try to implement autodetection of the encryption mode.

If the new version (0.9.8) doesn’t work (but previous was working fine), please follow the next:

  • Restart the app
  • Wait 10-20 seconds
  • Send diagnostic report from the app page

@Tuomas_Levoniemi please send me diagnostic report from the app, so I’ll be able to see the raw response from the hvac.

Some units report 0 degrees when they doesn’t support the measuring the temperature, so there is some workaround for them to show “-” instead of 0. But in your case it’s not clear: temperature is 0 or there is something else.

Both airco’s are offline now with new update.
And i can not change encryption now anymore ?

Same here :frowning:
