[APP][Pro&Cloud] Shelly

Hi, I have a quick question about Dimmer 2. Is it possible to control two different bulbs (with doublerocker switch) with on shelly Dimmer using SW1 and SW2?

Nope, one light output only.

I’m not the only one with this problem. https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/209984 @Phuturist thx for the support so far. I will have to find a solution outside this forum.

Ok, thanx for letting me know. I hope you are able to solve it.

@Phuturist minor issue with the 2.5 device, and don’t know if you are able to solve, but here goes. I’ve got 2 Shelly 2.5’s, both are configured as relay, so gives 2 devices per Shelly.

When adding a new device both Shelly’s 2.5 show up, constantly. When I do this with a Dimmer2 or 1PM (those are the only devices I have), it only shows new devices.

I can imagine it is because of the second relay not being added as a separate device and therefor it thinks it isn’t added.

Not that big a deal though

You are correct on why this happens and there is no easy way to solve this. I wont be spending my time on this.

For those with the issue of Homey Crashing/Freezing in combination with the Shelly App. It was discussed earlier that it only occurs in specific network conditions. After allot of digging I pinpointed the issue to the Bonjour Service on my Synology NAS. So for others having this issue, it might be relevant looking into any network device (nas, router, pc, others) running the Bonjour Service and disabling it

I’m sorry to post such a newbie question but how to I Add shelly dimmer to Homey? App is installed, I click on add and no shelly is discovered. do I need to add it to Shelly App first or what?
Second Q: Can I add shelly dimmer to single rocker button? I just want to be able to turn it off and on, and do dimming on phone. is it possible?

Yes, you need to add it through the Shelly app first. Else it will not be connected to your WiFi and Homey wont find the device. I dont know the answer to your second question but I assume it’s possible.

O… thank you. I really want to be able to use double rocker with two Dimmers so one dimmer per one key/switch

Might be worthwhile to mention this to Athom (support@athom.com), because it may be crashing/freezing somewhere in their autodiscovery stack.

Already on it.

Hi Guys.
I’ve trying to setup the Shelly Button1 in Homey
I’ve added it to Homey and this has changed the url for all button actions to the ip adress of my homey with like this
http://HomeyIP:80/api/app/cloud.shelly/button_actions/shellybutton1/shellybutton1-ShellyID/shortpush/
I then added a flow in Homey
With
When Shelly Action Event
AND Device ID =shellybutton1-ShellyID
Name = Button1 (Name specified in the name option of the Button1, checked via its own webUI)
Action = shortpush

THEN Toggle a Shelly Plug S

When i test this flow and fill in the same things i entered in the flow, it works. The Plug switches on or off.
But when i press the button it does nothing.
So it seems the Button1 does not send the details i thought are the Homey is not getting anything from the button.

Any ideas where i went wrong ?

I’m on stable homey v4.2 soo I’m not using the shelly debug version.
I’m using a deco m5 mesh system too, now that I’ve read your comments, I’m a little bit worried that things won’t run that well when homey v5 comes out, and shelly app changes to coap with the update
What does get afected on your experience?
Power readings?
On/off functions run well? Even on flows?

Thank you.

On/off functions still work and are stable. Even on flows. Power readings and temperature only work if the device is connected to the core Deco.

Yes, i already read that on tplink forum.
I will send an email, to tplink regarding this issue, although i am not yet experiencing this, i will be for sure sooner than later, the more complaints they get the more likely they will fix it.
Thank you soo much for your answer!

Update: I see this is included in the new 3.x version for Homey. I’ll try out that version

Nice to see that so many devices are supported in the App, great!. I do have a question, I just installed the 3EM to measure the power consumption of my 3 phase heat pump. When adding the device to Homey it gets added as 3 separate devices, one for each phase.

  • Is it possible to have a Power Meter included like with the 1PM? It would be nice to have the meter_power capability showing the net between meter_power_returned and meter_power_consumed. This would allow allow the app working together with the app and the total power consumed app solving the next point two points.

  • Is it possible to add one device showing the total power as in Shelly?

  • In the Energy Tab, the device is now recognized as a Smart Meter, is it possible to include it in the Energy Tab as a device?

I’m trying to stick to the default capabilities provided by Athom as much as possible. With version 3.x of my app the meter_power_consumed is replaced by the default meter_power. Adding an extra capability for the difference between consumed and returned is possible but would mean a custom capability which I’m trying to avoid. But feel free to submit a feature request on Github and try to get support for it. If more people are interested in it I’ll consider. Of course you might also be able to achieve this with some flows and a (better) logic variable.

This information is not available in the API of the devices. It would mean I’d a lot of extra logic within my app gathering data from the three channels making stuff harder to maintain. But feel free to submit a feature request on Github and try to get support for it. If more people are interested in it I’ll consider. Of course you can also achieve this with some flows and (better) logic variables.

Possible yes, desirable is up for debat and probably depend on how somebody uses the 3EM. The driver now states it’s a cumulative device, see Energy - Homey Apps SDK as it’s mostly used as current_clamp. Appearantly this adds it as a smart meter in the Energy Tab (I never used that myself). As far as I know it’s not possible to change this setting based on how a user uses the device but you could ask Athom about this and see what they have to say.

Thank you for the quick and extensive response.

I tried out the v3.x version and the change to meter_power is all that was needed to make it work in my case. Thx!

With the change to meter_power, I can now use the app and the Power by the Hour app to achieve the same functionality. Combined current and historical use.

It might be an idea to have an option in the advanced settings to control this behavior? The Youless App does this for the Youless meter
