[APP][Pro&Cloud] Shelly

Does the Z-wave relays have an “always on” setting like the wifi devices to avoid accidentally powering the devices off?

There is a restore state parameter for this. See the knowledge base for all options.

I have just installed a Shelly mini 1g3 as a garage port switch. It is connected to wifi, and works as intended.
I am able to add the device to Homey pro, but only if authentication is not set.
Having added the device, it appears to be possible to add credentials, though if I do so, homey lists the it as disconnected.

While access is, presumably, limited to my network, and I could further limit it e.g. by adding routing rules, I would prefer to have authentication on. I am quite new to Homie, so I hope that I might be overlooking something obvious?

Have you tried with username admin?

Thanks for the quick response!
That seems like something that should have worked.

Tried:

  1. Testing the device without credentials: works
  • Setting credentials
  1. Username blank, correct password: doesn’t work
  2. Username “admin”, correct password: doesn’t work
  • Removing credentials
  1. Without credentials: works

I still hoping that I am overlooking something.

When a Shelly device is not discovered over mDNS and you need to manually pair it, it usually means there is something not correctly configured in your network. Unless you are an advanced networking person this is not the recommended way.

It could very well be the manual pairing wizard isnt working with device authentication. I can have a look at that but you should yourself be looking into your network why Homey doesnt discover the device over mDNS (usually because the devices are not on same LAN).

The support topic can be found here: [APP][Pro&Cloud] Shelly

Hmmm… I don’t think it is a discovery issue; if I remove the device from Homey and try to re-add with credential set using “Any Shelly wifi device”, the device shows up.

The process fails later, with the following error message:
“An error occured when trying to add the device. This usually happens when the device is not on the latest firmware, a battery powered device is not kept awake during pairing or there are networking issues. See the instructions in the support topic on the community forum. The error is: Error 401: user credentials are missing or incorrect, make sure you have copied the correct user credentials as entered in the Shelly smartphone app or webinterface. Error message: Unauthorized”

As far as I can see, there is no option to set a password in Homey prior to adding a Shelly device.

If I remove the password from the Shelly mini 1G3, I am able to add it in Homey, and it works fine. Adding a password to the device and the device settings in Homey results in non-responsiveness. Removing the password on the device, it works fine again. I currently have no reason to suspect networking error.

You are right, I interpreted your first screenshot incorrectly.

Hmmm, I will have to look into that. I will get back on that later today.

It’s indeed a bug that will be fixed with the next release.

Hi,

I have put a shelly addon on my shelly plus1 with one DS18B20 sensor
On the shelly app all works fine, and i get regular temperature updates on the shelly app.

On the homey i get regular internal temp updates from the shelly internal sensor, but not updates from the DS18B20 sensor. The temperature remains unchanged after the homey inclusion date.
The only way to get a temp sensor DS18B update is to reboot the homey…

Any idea how i could solve this?

I just tested this and I cant reproduce. It works fine for me.

Did you add the sensor after pairing the Shelly? And could you post the output of http://shellyip/rpc/Shelly.GetStatus using a code block.

[EDIT] I found a bug which results in the status not updating near real-time. It should still update every minute or so based on Homey polling the device. But I’ll fix it the near realtime updates over websockets with the next release.

Hi,

No, the sensor was added before any pairing
I now went from no status update, to one per hour this night, to regular updates now
As if there was a warmup period

Hello, i have a shelly i4 dc integrated in homey.
The actualisation of the inputs in the shelly app are immediately but in homey needs 70 seconds.
I have already fixed ip adress
Thx for help

Hi,

Since a couple of days, I try to get the Shelly BLU HT working in Homey. Is see the following:

So, no temperature and humility visible.

One of Shelly PRO devices, is BLE enabled according to documentation.

In the Shelly app the device is working fine.

Questions:

  1. Is this (new) device already supported by the Homey Shelly app?
  2. or any idea how I could solve this?

Try removing and re-adding the BLE script on the Plus/Pro device.

Hi Phuturist,

I have done that several times and I switched also from device in Shelly and also done that in Homey.

I’ll check this weekend. It’s been a while since I added it. Could be more recent firmware updates broke the integration. Did the temp or humidity actually change since pairing and do the rssi or beacon change in Homey if changed on the device?

To be sure, I am talking about this new device from Shelly.

I haven’t seen any changes to the temp and humidity. So, constantly - sign. I have also the idea that the beacon is not working (tried it with a small flow) but the RSSI changes all the time.
