:sun_behind_small_cloud: Expanded Weather Data & API Improvements: This update introduces several new weather data fields and structural improvements throughout the app. Wind direction is now used directly from the API for more accurate readings, and wind speed in knots has been added to live weather, daily forecasts, and hourly forecasts.

:radio_button: Manual Data Refresh Button Added: A new capability button has been added to manually fetch the latest KNMI/weather data instantly, alongside the automatic 10-minute refresh cycle.

:three_o_clock: Timestamps Added Across Forecasts: Live weather data and hourly forecasts now include timestamps, making it easier to track exactly when weather information was updated.

:framed_picture: Weather Icons Expanded: Weather condition images/icons are now available in live weather, daily forecasts, and hourly forecasts for a more visual experience throughout the app.

:sun: Improved Solar Radiation Naming: The hourly forecast field gr has been renamed to solarRadiation to better reflect its actual meaning — global radiation in W/m² instead of sunshine percentage.

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Forecast Image Naming Improvements: Fields such as expectedTodayRecap have been renamed to expectedTodayImage (including the following forecast days as well), because these values always represented icon/image codes rather than textual summaries.

I can’t see the new fields for day 1, 2 and 3. Also fields image and wind_speed_knots are not visible.

I appreciate all your work with the various apps I use from you. Version updates are released very frequently.

I don’t think anyone is in a hurry to receive new versions. As far as I’m concerned, you should take the time to test the version yourself first before releasing it.
My advice would be: a lower update frequency but more stable (they really don’t need to be bulletproof).

Some remarks about version 4.1.6:

  • there is no “last_data_request” capability but there is a “last_refresh”. Are these the same?
  • there is no “expected_today_wind_speed_knots” nor “expected_tomorrow_image” capability
  • all days have the same generic image, but de image values differ:

The icon is just a icon. “Image” is the new term for weather forecasts, e.g., showers, rain, dry conditions, etc.

Ahh. I assumed that “image” would be a daily summary in the form of an icon. So I misinterpreted that.
Would such an icon be possible, even if it is just a URL reference to an externally stored icon? I use the data from your app in a Homey dashboard app.

Maybe I should have restarted the KNMI app first.

In any case, I think it’s a good idea to take a good look at the app first before giving feedback or asking questions.

New capabilities appear at the bottom, not in chronological order. Also, you may need to delete your device and create a new one, if you want them in chronological order. I’m still working on getting all the images into widgets, such as the rain radar, etc., but not the images you’re referring to.

I get continues notifications in my timeline “welcome at the newest…”. Is there a reason this is getting repeated ? Does this mean I missed something in my flows as the message states that excisting users should check the flows?

You should only see the notifications once during the new installation. They’ll disappear after the next update. However, if you reboot your device, they’ll reappear in the current version. The token IDs have changed, so it’s a good idea to check your flows.

You can switch it of by your self: settings → timeline - Knmi → switch of notifications.

Hello. The maximum expected temperature here in the Netherlands has been unusually low for the past few days. During the whit (pinkster) weekend it only reached 17 degrees predicted. Is this just an issue with my device or is it a known bug? Thanks.
