Hi, I have a situation with Homey Pro (Early 2023) firmware 12.4.1 and Frient app v2.6.1. All my devices are offline and Homey says the app is not installed. I have tried rebooting and reinstalling the Homey firmware using the Homey USB tool. I am at a bit of a loss here, should I do a full reset and restore from backup or is there a way to solve the problem with softer methods?
This sounds like the same problem that I reported a couple of weeks ago (see earlier in this thread). So far Iāve had no response whatsoever from @frient ⦠Basically, a lot of devices that I was relying on to tell me that there is a fire or that my place is being broken into are now all completely useless.
I just added the air quality sensor to my Homey pro, but I can only see the temperature and not the humidity. Any tricks to this?
Any update on this?
I have the same thing with mine that when you deactivate the alarm before 30 seconds have passed, the keypad continues to count down.
I have been very frustrated with this issue. As mentioned, about half of all my Frient devices have been behaving unstably.
I have 9 devices in the house and 3 devices in the garage. To ensure that the devices would have a stable connection, I set up Zigbee routers from Aeotec and Sonoff eWeLink.
The devices in the garage dropped out of the Zigbee network between 1 and 2 hours after being connected.
Devices in the house, especially those closest to the garage, would often drop out after 5-6 hours, or at most a day.
I was close to giving up, but then I started searching a bit with ChatGPT, originally in relation to some other Zigbee devices. By chance, the troubleshooting led me to discover the issues with the Frient devices.
I decided to remove the Aeotec Zigbee Extender and Sonoff eWeLink devices and replaced them with smart plugs from Aqara. I restarted Homey, deleted the problematic devices, and reconnected them near Homey. After that, I placed them back in their original positions.
This was 6 days ago, and all devices have been working without any issues.
So my tip is to check, and feel free to use ChatGPT, if you have any devices at home that are causing trouble.
As mentioned, 6 days without problems here. Iāve never gone this long without issues.
Wow. Seems like Aqara smart plug is a solution, because Iāve placed the plug closest to the frient device as it was even possible and it is working without leaving the network for more than month already!
How can I update my devices?
Hello.
I have a frient keypad connected to my homey and the heimdall app installed.
I placed some users in heimdall and with the different pincode or RFID tag heimdall could see which user has enabled or disabled the alarm. I asked the developer if he could make it possible to make a if-flow who enabled or disabled the alarm. He said it couldnāt be done.
But the frient keypad sents to heimdall who triggered the alarm. Could the frient keypad trigger a flow which person enabled/disabled the alarm? Or even which pincode and RFID?
I donāt know exactly which Gateway can be used to update the firmware of frient devices, maybe with a ConBee III or Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus, I just know that itās not possible with a Homey.
Hmmm
The subject of firmware updates for Z-Wave and Zigbee devices with Homey has been discussed for some time and is requested by many Homey users.
Athom says that itās generally possible, but the app developers are responsible for adapting their app accordingly. However, I have already spoken with two app developers, and they say that basic functions are missing in the Homey firmware⦠![]()
@Doekse Is this something for the future
My problem was solved with new power cable. The one that came with homey is rubbish. I suggest to try decent cable with better shielding. Usually this means support for high speed data. I did overkill and used thunderport 4 cable. After that no more dissapearing apps and reboots seem to work fine.
My smoke detectors upstairs on the 1st floor leave the network from time to time
Do many suffer from this / what is a solution?
When my Homey updated to version 12.5.0 eight days ago, one of my Frient smoke detectors for some reason left the Zigbee network. It seems to have left permanently; there is no ārepairā button or anything and the Zigbee network overview at Homey Developer Tools does not list it any more. The Homey device is still there, but it has the red warning label and is non functional.
Of course it is the one that is mounted four meters high. Is there any way to get it back on the network without having to climb up to it?
Also, why did this happen, and is there a way to prevent it?
Of course, would be too easy otherwise⦠![]()
I donāt know the reason why something like this happens. But since this has already happened to me with Zigbee devices from Philips Hue and IKEA TrĆ„dfri out of nowhere, I suspect that the problem is caused by Homey. I would therefore recommend that you also contact Athom support.
Hi.
Weāve seen similar behavior also with devices from other manufacturers.
There are also more threads on Homey Community Forum regarding the issue.
From my personal experience, I noticed it seems to happen more often when the affected device has been connected via range extender.
Iād suggest actually reaching out to Homey support.
Thank you
@Emile or anyone else is this problem Known ?
Hi
Just received the Frient Intelligent Keypad.
I have set it to work with Heimdall.
Now how can I distinguish in a flow which user de-activated the alarm through their pin or rfid?
The Frient app has a āwhenā card, that provides this information. But the card also says, that if you use Heimdall that you should use the Heimdall cards.
But in those I do not see how to distinguish which user de-activated the alarm.
What am I missing?
frient / develco products stopped working one day. nothing else. sometimes i can turn the outlet on and off without problem. flow etc. and sometimes not. restarting app / honey makes zero difference. just need to wait some hours. itās only develco / frient. it happened after a homey update i think. several months ago. something changed. and homey definitely donāt take any responsibility.
