Is there any way to increase the limit of 30 RF commands for the Broadlink RM devices?
Yes, it is, unless there are some Homey limits, but what would be the use case ? Sofar you are first raising this⦠![]()
Iām sure there are others with the same question. I found several other posts in this thread asking about the limit but I didnāt find a response. Going all the way back to 2019
In my specific case itās the amount of RF switches I have, many are 2gang. I just counted 49 separate buttons I would like to create RF commands for.
OK, that makes sense then ;-)) I wasnāt there yet ![]()
So when you say there is an option to increase the limit, what do I need to do to make it happen? ![]()
Iām asking because I just bought the Homey Pro and was pretty successful with adding my other smart home devices. Unfortunately, was disappointed to learn I cannot clone my 433 remotes for my switches. So, Broadlink is still the way to go. Unfortunately with Broadlink thereās a command limit. If I canāt add RF commands for ALL of my switches then that kinda makes or breaks the deal and I need to go and return the Homey. The return policy is 14 days here so Iām limited on time to decide if Iām keeping it or not.
I would say stick with Homey. Things will get better. And in the worst case or in the meantime you can always use an extra broadlink unit (those 30 commands are per Broadlink iirc)
If you know, what and how, you can always take Github code and make necessary modifications. ![]()
I hope that this previously abandoned app, would be not your key deciding factor to keep it or not.
Try with the new experimental version - I did some test on my RM4 Mini but naturally it deserves much more intensive testing.
Version 3.1.61 ā Experimental - extended numbers of saved commands up to 90 and added backup/restore functionality
Version 3.1.61 ā Experimental - added RM5 Plus (not tested)
I recommend taking regularly copy of ābackup JSONā, just in case something will go wrong. It shall get updated automatically upon change. In the worst case, I hope you have Cloud backups (eg. re-learning 30 commands might be nightmare).
In case of issue, after replicating the error, submit debug with some comments.
Thank you for giving it a try!
Based on your screenshot Iām not exactly seeing what you are:
When I select ācommand setā I can choose the setsā¦
⦠but when I go back Iām still at command set 1-30. Do I first need to fully populate the first 30?
You need to apply the settings. But the learning shall continue incrementally no matter which set is selected, itās for editing of the commands name only.
Right right, thanks again. Unfortunately I didnāt get to testing and loading all the commands in yet. Work got in the way. But this is the current behavior on my side.

Strange, can you send diag. log?

Edit: maybe I should have mentioned that Iām seeing the same behavior when I try to switch between sets in the Homey web app.
Please try new test - Broadlink | Homey - in case of issues, letās continue 1:1.
Version 3.1.63 ā Extended numbers of saved commands up to 90 and added backup/restore functionality - fix
Just to report back. I currently have almost 60 stored commands and all seems to be working fine. Thanks again!
ā¦try to keep backup aside (in the device settings), itās not throughouly tested and I believe you are the only one using it currently in such extend ![]()
hello for the last few days my bradlink rm pro + has not been working on homey its ok on the main broardlink app but not on the homey app
I have uninstall it from homey and reinstalled it and it works ok for a day or 2 and then stops again like homey canāt send the signal to the divice I just get a time out error message
the other anyying thing is when I uninstall till it looses all the remote control I have manly put in to home is there no way of backing them up so you dint need to keep on manly putting them back in
Awesome! Both additions are very welcome!
(I just discovered the backup/restore function ![]()
)
Just new with this app. Just bought a new Broadlink RM mini3. Are there by the way advantages to upgrate to the mini4? I can still return itā¦
Trying to learn IR commands for this device. I do get this with all tries; I cant learn any command. In the Broadlink app, the option āLock deviceā is off and the device has been restarted. It detects IR learning when using the Broadlink itself.
Error: āIR learning failed: tried long enoughā. App version: v6.1.66. Some Diagnostics Reports:
