From memory it’s not possible to poll for music - I just get updates on connect or when a song changes (not when it stops)
Following you around the house sounds like a cool idea.
I would maybe make a group of speakers for the Alexa devices and as I move into a new room “stop” the group and start playing on the new device?
That would minimise the amount of flows etc, but would mean that the music would stop/start which isn’t ideal.
You could also use a different pattern for stopping - where you have a flow for stopping all devices except 1. And a condition that “and device X” isn’t active. Then just fire off flows each time … I used to use a similar pattern for circadian effects.
Hard to explain in words I’ll see if I have some flows to share.
I don’t really use this approach anymore because there is a circadian app … but the same pattern could be used for turning off speakers in a room which isn’t active.
Hi - this is a truly great app, but sadly it simply doesn’t work. I recently migrated to Homey from Homeseer and I love the interface. But roughly every 4 to 24 hours all of my Echo devices disconnect from Homey. It seems that the developer cannot work out a fix - he has been trying for a few years - so that’s the end of the app?
Welcome to the forum. And as so many before you you come in with a direct assumption.
Many many people have this app working perfectly. So no, not an end of the app.
In all the unique scenarios out there, yours seems to have issues.
Hi, I also have lots of deconnexion with alexa but I think the problem isn’t Homey but Amazon servers.
Si i’ve made a flow which “reconnect” my alexa app each hours.

It’s a simple flow and since I’ve made it my alexa app work much more better.
Hi @Chris_Starkey this app works for 99% of people, but how long it stays connected varys wildly per person. A lot of people get months before they disconnected - personally I get about 5-6 weeks, others weeks and some get days. BUT if you are a person who gets “months” then what we see is that you ALWAYS get months.
If you are a person who gets weeks … then you always get weeks, this makes it pretty obvious that is something to do outside of the application. I suspect something to do with homeys internet connection.
As people who reboot their router daily … get disconnected daily.
That all said there are workarounds
Have a look at your router/wifi set up and see whats going on there in regards to Homey
The Flow for reconnecting.
Restarting the alexa app every 24 hour hours will also force it to attempt to reconnect with its existing cookie.
A good way to test to see whats going on is … when you reconnect are you asked to enter your username/password each time … or can it just reconnect using the old auth token? (ie no user/pass)
Hi !
I have been using your applications for a few weeks without any problems, no disconnections etc.
However, I have 2 Amazon echo Pop and ule Dot Gen5, and these are not supported by the application, do you think you will make them compatible soon?
Hey @Julien_Perez I am not programming at the moment. But there are plans for adding support for these devices at some point when I next have free time. (generally happens once to twice a year).
Hi Jamie, and thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I seem to be one of the unlucky 1%! But, of course, for me it’s 100%. All my Echo devices get disconnected after a very short time, usually a few hours.
Using the flow for reconnection doesn’t work for me. The app won’t reconnect without some manual intervention (see below)
Re-starting the app (or indeed re-starting Homey) leaves the Echo devices disconnected.
When I have to reconnect devices (manually) I don’t need to re-enter user name and password. But it seems to ‘forget’ which server I connect to, so I have to select this manually before clicking Connect.
I am trying my own trouble-shooting but any thoughts from you would be very welcome.
Would be much appreciated if the new echo pop could be added soon somehow bougth 8 pcs and can‘t use them the way i was planning to (not your fault at all!)
I have problems when I try to connect. I login to Amazon get the verification code. But when I try to enter it in thr login the login restart every 2 seconds so that I can’t enter the code. I’m on iOS 17
I just use my iphone - it comes inbuilt with screen recording tools. Looks like a circle inside a cirlce on your system screen (near the flashlight icon)_
Also for me it doesn’t work. I try to add a smart light via the Alexa app in homey, enter my credentials, then the verification code and then a page pops up saying that the page couldn’t be found. I tried with all three servers. Any idea or suggestions what I can do differently?
Are you using phone based mfa with your Alexa account? If so consider the app based mfa (using the authenticator of your liking) see if that resolves it.
