But can you start Alexa scenario 's, because that the only reason that i use an Echo Dot.
I had same problems for a few days with the echo appâŚ
But somehow one day it stayed stable ![]()
I heard that maybe the WLAN / LAN Adapter could be part of the problem.
Few people have no problems with the Alexa app, using just WiFi
Hi Toby, good point on the network adapter, could be an issue. I am on the Lan directly into my second hub that works as a AP, then wired to the main router. I am also running the stock Homey firmware 12.8.2, I switched off experimental stuff!
This is my situation with the Echo app since this morning
! I reinstalled it yesterday and it worked fine. Iâll try disabling LAN. Thanks.
Unfortunately there are significant differences in capability between the two apps that some/many of us have come to rely on, especially when you consider itâs an integration to one of the larger solution providers out there with at least half a billion devices sold. That installed base has a much broader integration reach and with a still somewhat nascent integration effort natively in Homey, the broken community app is how many of us access those devices. How they could reply with ânothing plannedâ indicates either planning malfeasance or willful neglect.
Toby I use the Homey ethernet adapter but tried disconnecting and rolling to Wi-Fi. Wish I had better news to report, at least for me it immediately crashes, same as on wired ethernet.
Since Amazon does not provide official ways to integrate its more or less a hack to do it. For a company to build this and support it would be a continuous battle to keep it stable and suffer complaints of users that expect a stable connection for an official solution. Not to mention that Amazon might consider it violation and might send their lawyers.
I am sure that if they could get a proper partnership with Amazon they would have. The fact that Amazon clearly doesnât care themselves, bad matter support, lack of development effort etc in their own devices doesnât help the situation. Amazon clearly decided to turn their attention elsewhere.
Today i tried again and now it seems to be possible.
Earlier i could not so anything with the Echo Dot app because i donât have devices iny Alexa app.
Now i did recover some devices and am able to use routines/scenarioâs.
I updated to latest release candidate for Homey. 12.9.0-rc 14. For now Jamieâs app is working fine. (6.0.3)
My Amazon Alexa app keeps crashing all of a sudden. Restarted it manually several times.
Restarted Homey Pro also several times. Who can help me out?
I also updated but I still donât get the login request from amazon.de but always: Error: error is not defined. And it makes no difference if I activate or deactivate 2FA on Amazon.
It has unfortunately stopped working for me as well. I think that the only resort is to switch to the Echo app. I am certain @Jamie has done all he can do. Perhaps something fundamental has changed.
I switched my echo devices to the echo app and it works like a charm.
Just sad that I can not add those Alexa devices which that echo app.
We will survive ![]()
Just installed the new Honey firmware.
Was hoping it might solve the Alexa problem.
Unfortunately it didnât ![]()
