Yes, you can just install the main version by switching to main (same as switching to test). No need to reinstall anything ![]()
@MrDutchfighter Great work! It seems to be working :-). Do you think it’s possible to have an event/trigger on ‘Actieve laadpas’ switching from Null to not Null? That way I can change my flows so they start as soon as the charging session is authorized.
Edit: maybe I was a little bit to enthousiastic. I did more testing and I don’t always get the ID from my charging-tag. I expect this to be a timing issue. Will do more testing in the coming days and keep you posted.
You can use the status changed events (that is also when Alfen logs it). So on status change, if card ID is something, do something else.
What is good to know is that the app polls every 30 seconds, so if you plug and unplug it somewhere within 30 seconds and/or send other commands to the Alfen within that same period the connection might crash/miss the event.
The API is really crappy in allowing only one connection and doesn’t support a full keep-alive, haven’t found a good (thread safe) method within homey to make sure that sending some data doesn’t close the connection while another part of the app is still retrieving data…
Hi, did some testing based on the status changed events. Unfortunately the laadpas-id was never available. Had to switch back to the stable version because het card ‘beperk laadsnelheid tot’ was missing as well.
You shouldn’t use that card. It was a fundamentally wrong feature abusing a safety setting in the charger and actually modifying the maximum amperage the station was allowed to use. That is why I removed it, there is another setting available (set target power), that uses the same function as the Alfen app is using when modifying the amount of power sent to the device.
It is a bit strange that your card is isn’t logged. When you run the test version, and connect your car, can you sent me a diagnostics report +/- 30 seconds after the car connects. This should give me the relevant part of your Alfen log and hopefully gives some info on what is different on your device vs mine.
Okay. I’ll first reconfigure my flows to use ‘set target power’. Then I’ll reinstall the test version to test everything out. I’ll let you know.
By the way, yesterday I installed the standard (non-test) version, and the charging station displayed a ‘missing EV_capability…’ error. I had to pair the charging station as a new device and update my flows to work with the new device.
So if i wait 30 sec after authorizing via RFID-tag, the tag-id should be there?!
Theoretically, yes, also, I noticed that I had to sometimes reopen the Alfen charger itself (as in the device in Homey), because it is strangely not always refreshing the properties (which I find very strange as it does this for other devices
). But it’s just a bit funky sometimes. Another thing, but I don’t know if relevant, might be a huge log that it first has to spit through.. but not sure if that is a thing. If it doesn’t show up, please sent me the debug log/app report from Homey. Then I can have a look.
@MrDutchfighter first tests look very promising. After authorizing the session, the id is available immediately. Will test some chargingsessions in the coming days and let you know.
This is why i cannot find it in the test version!
I use ‘Beperkt laadsnelheid to -A” In the live version to stop or start charching or load balance (e.g. if my washer and/or dryer are active), as. Previously start en stop card dind’t work. Is that fixed know?
EDIT: This should have been a reply to your post not to use the “ beperk laadsnelheid”
‘Stel doelvermogen in’ to 0 does the trick. It works to stop charging
. I used to use the ‘beperk laadsnelheid’ as well but replaced it by ‘stel doelvermogen in’.
I’m going to renovate my flows to this.
I changed out my flows, and this work fine for stopping, switching to solar, and to start. However, this does not work for load balancing; I changed my card for “Beperk laadsnelheid naar 9A” for " Stel doelvermogen in op “6210” (equivalent of 9A), it does register. But does not scale down to power (and Amps). Even more strange is that I can see this value change back to max power 11040w, within a few seconds.)
Is there any way to load balance, @MrDutchfighter? Because it don’t seem to be an available card for “Active load-balancing limit” that can be set? By the way, this value did also change shortly simultaneously with my change to “doelvermogen”. But this also changed back to “16A”.
In the test version this works (pretty fase even). But what strikes me is that after plug-out the active id, doesn’t clean. It stays on the last used ID.
That’s strange. After plugout it is cleaned here
Have to say i scan my tag before unplugging (like you need to on a public charger)

Laadpasid isn’t available. Occasionally it is but most of the time it’s not
Experiencing the same.
@Daderu, @Walter_vande_kerkhof ; published a new test version, hopefully this is a bit more fool proof
Alfen | Homey
Installed the new version. Will let you know the results
