There could be a ‘work around’ though honestly I think its going to be pretty clunky.

You could create a new flow with

There is an awesome Ring app by @DaneedeKruyff (Send Daneede a donation) - (that I use), which can create a flow for “when generic alarm turned on” (ie. door bell pressed).

Action
Using my alexa app I would use the card "Have a device run the command … ", then specify exactly what you would say to alexa "speak whit “video doorbell name on [device name]”

This should automate that process for you at least, (in theory) if I get a chance ill try it out.

If you want to go a step further, and pay for the premium ring, you could have it run that command when it detects that a “human” is approaching the door … and your home. (Detecting people using @DaneedeKruyff app is super cool. ) (Send Daneede a donation)

To avoid making a mistake, I’ll show you the Flow I wrote:

For the Card of “When…” I think I didn’t make a mistake with:

• The generic alarm has been activated

Note: “Ingresso principale” is the name of my video doorbell Ring.

For the Card of “Then…” I hope I have chosen the right Card; however, I have a doubt about the presence of “Alexa” in the sentence:

• «Alexa, speak with Ingresso principale»

Dear Jamie, can you just tell me:

• If the 2 Cards are right?
• Is there a Card that can only activate the audio? I ask you because on the image of the video intercom – on Echo Show – there is the writing “Audio deactivated”; I don’t know if it’s enough to activate the audio to communicate bidirectionally…

(When I’m not alone at home, I’ll do some tests…)
