[APP][Cloud & Pro] SwitchBot (Release 2.0.7, Test 2.0.11)

Sorry to write again here…
If this is an official app, team Homey must get involved to solve the issue of the app not working?
I mean they can’t state that it’s an official app and fool people to thinking it’s possible to use the products from Switchbot when they don’t work - can they?

Is there anything we can do to put more pressure on Switchbot?

I am consulting with SwitchBot and we have made some progress.
Unfortunately, the time difference doesn’t help as we have a small window when we are both available, plus I have a full time job to juggle.
The issue has arisen when SwitchBot upgraded their servers, making new accounts incompatible with their old login page.
I now have the new URIs and I can get past the login part, but the part to get the access token using the authorisation token is not working.

I have installed an Switchbot Mini Hub. I have also included an IR remote control.
How can I use this Remote control in Homey?
If I will include it in Homey, I have to sign in in switchbot account but I get the error that my sign in credentials (same as in the App) are not correct.
What can I do or where is my fault?

See above. WIP.

@Adrian_Rockall

Thank-you for an excellent app. I have several SwitchBot products and all work fine with Homey - no issues.

I moved my Homey yesterday and found it could no longer reach a couple of my bots. I had thought BLE was the only connection option. I thought it odd that there was no ‘hub’ option but scrolling down, I found it under ‘Wall plug’. I deleted them as BLE devices and added them back as hub ones and now all good.

If you are able, it might help others if you moved Bot (Hub) to the ‘Button’ section.

Andy

Already done that yesterday when I was playing with the login issues. I don’t know why it ended up as a wall plug, but maybe a copy and paste issue when I created it.

It will be in the next update.

Nice. Best of luck with the login issue.

Andy

I have published a new test version that has an updated login system using the new servers.
Hopefully this will solve the login issues.

SwitchBot have been very helpful over the last week, making changes on their new login system so Homey can connect again.

Hello,
I use a Logitech Harmony ELite remote control which has a lot of problems because of a shock. I am looking to replace it knowing that all my wifi infrared products go through an amp. Do you know if I can create scenes or equivalent with the SwitchBot Universal Remote in order to manipulate my Onkyo amp with this remote control?
I also use an Nvidia Shield connected to the amp and my TV.
Thank you

No, this does not work with the current software version. You can teach the IR remote controls via a Switchbot hub and then transfer them to the Switchbot remote control. Scenes are not yet possible.
Just buy a second-hand Harmony remote control, you’ll be better off with that.

Today I’ve got a SwitchBot Meter Pro (CO2 monitor). Nice device with good display. Do you think you can add support to the Homey SwitchBot app?

I haven’t seen any details of that one yet and it seems they are on pre-order until the end of October.
As soon as I can find out anything I will add it to the app.

Thank you very much. I’ve got a promo device for testing. Think about replacing my Netatmo weather station with this Meter pro. The meter plus won’t have the CO2 sensor included.

Hi,

I have a problem with this one…

I still can choose between 2 of the 3 speed modes. Performance and silent. But the silent mode is actually the silentdrift mode. So there is no option to control the curtains in normal silent mode.

For some time this was no problem because I controlled the curtains using Switchbot scenes. But as this was not working really stable (triggers where missed a lot of times) I did the following thing;

Added all curtains as ble devices AND as Hub devices. And in all flows I fired both action cards to double the change of success. That is working fine now, but I can only use the performance mode as the silent drift modes is really slow. And the performance mode is a bit too loud.

I also can choose for “last used” but it does not uses the last used mode that is used in the Switchbot app on my phone.

Anything I can do to fix this?

The login issue still persists with me unfortunately.
Deleted my Gmail switchbot account and set everything up from scratch with a new non-third-party account.
Homey cannot find any devices although they’re set up in the switchbot app :slightly_frowning_face::slightly_frowning_face:
I’m losing my head here🤯

Have you updated to the test version, 2.0.0?

Yes

What devices do you have?
Could you open the app settings page and select the Detected tab. If the list is empty, tap on Get Devices and when the log is populated tap on Send Log.
If that doesn’t work then select the Log tab and set the log level to Detailed Information, then try to add a device and at the end, go back to the app setting page and select the Log tab again and Send it.

I have a hub mini and a bot via hub.
Just sent the log

Here’s the detailed log

Hmm, that’s basically the same devices I added to a new test account. Could you try opening the SwitchBot phone app and tap on the Profile button then select Preferences - About and then tap on the App Version hundreds of times until you see a new item called Developer appear.
Then try adding the bot to Homey.
