[Android-App] Floating Tiles – home screen widgets & a floating panel for Homey (looking for testers)

Hi all,

I’m Alex from the Netherlands. For the past few months I’ve been building an Android app for my own Homey Pro, and my family has been using it every day. I’d now like to put it on Google Play, and for that I need a small group of testers first.

What it does
Floating Tiles lets you control your Homey without opening the Homey app:

  • Floating panel: tap an icon or widget on your home screen and your buttons appear on top of it. Tap beside it and it’s gone. Up to 3 panels, each with its own buttons.
  • Home screen widgets: single buttons or a whole panel as a widget, in many shapes (tile, pill, glass, plug with power use, blinds with position bar, AC with fan speed…).
  • Lights, dimmers, blinds, air conditioning, thermostats, sensors and flows (also on/off flow pairs that follow a device or a Yes/No variable).

It talks directly to your own Homey on your Wi-Fi and sees changes right away. There’s no server of my own, no account, no ads and no tracking. The test version is free.

I searched the forum and couldn’t find an app that does this on the Android home screen, but I may have missed something. If something similar already exists, please let me know. I’m happy to hear about it.

What I’m looking for
Testers with:

  • a Homey Pro,
  • an Android phone (Android 8 or newer),
  • a Google account.

No Homey? You can still help: choose “Try without Homey (demo)” when you open the app and explore everything in a pretend house.

Google requires a closed test of 14 days, so please keep the app installed for two weeks and use it a few times. Feedback, bugs and screenshots are very welcome, in English or Dutch.

Interested?
Send me a private message or an email to support@lexieapps.nl with the Gmail address you use in Google Play. I’ll add you to the test and send you the link.

Please note: this is a test version made by a hobby developer, so it may still contain bugs. The app only does what you tap or set up yourself. It doesn’t change your flows or settings in Homey. Use it at your own risk, and if something doesn’t work, I’d love to hear about it so I can fix it.

Unofficial app, not affiliated with Athom. Android only (no iPhone).

Thanks!
Alex
