A lot of vacations, that’s all! Development will start when everyone’s back ![]()
Hi @Doekse, sorry for polling so often, it’s just that this integration is really sorely lacking, but are there any updates? ![]()
@Doekse Is everyone back yet? ![]()
We’ve resolved the technical aspects and are now waiting for the samples to be shipped so we can begin the integration process.
One important note: we discovered that AJAX sensors only report their status when the alarm is armed. So, for those hoping to use their smart sensors for things like presence detection or controlling lights in their smart home, this won’t be possible initially. AJAX would need to update their API to enable that functionality.
Thnx for the update!
For battery operated sensors I don’t think it will be a good usecase to use those sensors for other functions than their alarm function. Otherwise the batteries would drain much quicker.
It might be an interesting usecase for AJAX devices connected to the powersupply.
Ah that would be a shame, as using the door and window sensor status is what would make this integration very useful.
I doubt it is related to battery life, as those sensors do report their status to the hub and app even if the alarm is not armed.
I can imagine that the motion detectors would not report their status when disarmed for battery reasons.
It’s indeed not battery related, just a limitation of the API.
I understand it’s API related, or maybe even more related to how Ajax designed their system.
However I would not (even) want to drain the batteries of my Ajax motion detection sensors by using them for Homey presence detection. I assume those sensors are not detecting anything if the alarm is not armed, mainly to save battery capacity.
Hi fmb,
See screenshots. ‘Uitgeschakeld’ means ‘disarmed’.
When opening a Ajax door sensor it will be shown in the Ajax app.
Door open unarmed
Door closed unarmed

Thanks (bedankt
) for taking the effort to explain/demonstrate. We are not talking about the same sensors. I was referring to the motion sensors, not the door sensors ![]()
Hi,
Thanks for the progress on this, would be great to have a basic integration already!
Having Ajax improve the API would be great in a next step.
for example When a window/door is open would be great to control Tado as Tado works with a timer…
Would fire alarm also be in the basic API?

The device types that we want to support in the first version are:
- Hub
- Opening detector
- Glass break detector
- Motion detector
- Keypad
- Siren
Hi @Doekse,
Thanks. I can’t wait (perhaps you noticed). As soon as it will be live please include a dashboard widget for the keypad. That would be awesome.
Keep up the excellent job. I start to love you more than the wife ![]()

Hi @Doekse, many thanks for update. I have a question. Will it be possible to arm or disarm Ajax using Homey?
In the post of @Doekse (where you replied to) it says ‘Keypad’, but I wonder how this will work. In order to arm / disarm in the Ajax app I have to login first with a (Ajax) password.
I’m guessing that we will be able to arm the system via Homey but we will not be able to disarm the system via Homey. I hope I’m wrong but I would fully understand that decision.
Rogier
Yeah, I hope so too
But it’s important for me to be sure that the system will or will not be armed, as I’m currently working on an app for Homey Pro that would allow me to do it with feedback. And if this feature will be available from Homey developers, I simply will not waste my time on it.
I found this online: https://alarmsysteemwebshop.nl/product/ajax-smartlink/
@Bart_vK It uses SIA not the API of ajax… You only get alarm armed/disarmed and if the alarm is triggered and which section that got triggered. You can save your money and setup a homeassistant instance with the same functions for 0 euros.
I´m looking forward to the implemetation from Athom team… Since they are going to use the api more things will be usefull to us from the ajax alarm.
so is there anything new? I just bought an Alarm from Ajax, I prefer to donate to speed up the development of compatibility, rather than paying a bunch of sensors and modules to Ajax @Doekse
Exactly, we can have a roadmap of release? It will be very appreciate
