Ajax systems integration to complement home security

Hi, i would like to know more about it once it can be integrated into a Homey system.

There is public feature request for Ajax where you can vote for public api. Check it here Home Security System Suggested Features — Ajax Systems

My first vote on that page was in 2019… so do not get your hopes up…

Any news on integration of Ajax into Homey?

If not, can someone build me such a physical integration? I’m in the Netherlands

Yes and no…
I can get the API key upon request.
However, I was informed that the AJAX sensors turn into sleep mode once the system gets disarmed (to save the battery). You could still use it to (for example) arm/disarm the Hub, but you can’t use the motion or doorcontact sensor for other purposes.

Secondly, I made a start with the development of the app, but figured I’m going to need some help from a developer to get the framework in place

By running the Ajax SIA app on NodeRed at least you can get the alarm state to Homey, it is not that complete, but switching things on/off with the alarm works fine

For those interested in integration. I just receive this mail from homey:

Hi all, thanks for your request! :tada: We’ve gotten in contact with AJAX Systems and are currently onboarding them to the Talks With Homey program, with development on the official integration being plannend for mid May. We’ll surely keep you all posted when we have an update! :raised_hands:

Lets hope all goes well and we have soon the app we all wait for.

that would be really great!

Curious if the sensor states then can be read and what the effect on battery life is

Is er al meer bekend ?

Homey is er nog druk mee bezig. Maar nog geen witte rook dat het gaat lukken.

Met vriendelijke groet

Good news! We’ve gotten in contact with a developer from AJAX who is going to help us with several questions we had in regards to the API. We have a meeting scheduled in two weeks

That sound great. Hope that they can fix the problems with the authentication.

With kind regards,

Great guys! let us know!

@Doekse How did the meeting go? Is there any sun in the horizon to get ajax working with homey?

We had our meeting and here’s a summary:

The AJAX API isn’t designed for our intended use. Currently, a single API key interfaces with multiple AJAX hubs and devices, but all traffic and status updates are sent to that single API key. This means every Homey user with the AJAX App installed would receive information about all connected hubs, including those of other users.

We are now exploring the possibility of setting up a microserver within Homey Cloud to receive all data and then distribute it to the correct user.

Is there a update ? Over the status ?

If you are very excited about something and you can’t wait it takes forever :pensive:. I hope it doesn’t turn in to a disappointment.

@Doekse please give us something positiveness
