Yes I am also very interested in this point. I’m considering a reset of the Zigbee network on my new HP2023 with (DIY) upgraded CM4 module after restoring the backup from my current HP2023. This is because of the issues documented here: Zigbee issue with Homey Pro 2026
My understanding is that when I restore from backup, Homey at least attempts to restore everything about the Zigbee network including the channel as well as the table of devices etc.
What I am currently expecting to happen is this:
- I restore my DIY-upgraded HP2023 using the latest cloud backup from my current HP 2023
- The zigbee network has problems as documented in the post linked above
- I reset the zigbee network
- My zigbee devices remain in the devices view in Homey but are all broken
- All flows referring to zigbee devices become broken due to broken devices
- I then need to repair each Zigbee device. For each one:
- I go to Maintenance > Repair
- Go through the steps relevant to each device
- the device in Homey is no longer broken and all related flows referring to this device are no longer broken
- Once I’ve repaired all Zigbee devices, I’m done. All flows should now be working again.
As @Dennis_Schonherr points out, the first post in this topic suggests (in points 7 and 8) that a Zigbee reset wipes the network configuration and requires re-pairing all devices (which lines up with my expectations). But then point 7 says that “Before proceeding with a reset, ensure you have a recent backup. Homey’s backup feature will allow you to restore all your devices and settings after the reset”. That does not line up with my expectations: after I reset the Zigbee network, I don’t expect the backup to be immediately useful since restoring from it would bring back all of the problems with the Zigbee network that I was trying to get rid of.
Instead, after resetting the Zigbee network I’m expecting to have to manually re-pair every single Zigbee device (which will likely take me a day in itself) but then I should be done.
Can anyone confirm this is what will / should happen?
