Hi everyone,
I’m sharing Remora Fil Pilote, a native Homey SDK 3 app for the Remora ESP8266 pilot-wire heating controller. It lets you control up to seven radiator outputs as separate Homey devices, entirely through the board’s local HTTP API.
Test version: Remora Fil Pilote | Homey
Source code and documentation: GitHub - ptiyannou/homey-remora-fil-pilote: Local Homey SDK 3 / SHS integration for Remora ESP8266 pilot-wire heating: seven outputs, four modes. · GitHub
Version 0.1.6 is currently on the test channel and awaiting Athom certification.
What it does
- Exactly four pilot-wire commands: Off, Eco, Comfort and Frost protection.
- Pair by entering the Remora IP address or hostname, then select the outputs you want to add.
- Individual radiator controls and automatic state updates every 30 seconds.
- Standard Flow and Advanced Flow cards to change one radiator’s mode, change all seven outputs on its board, check the current mode, or react when the mode changes.
- Load-shedding status and an address-repair option if the board’s IP changes.
- No Remora cloud service or account: the integration communicates over your LAN.
The “all outputs” action affects all seven physical outputs, even those not paired with Homey. The radiator’s own thermostat still regulates its temperature. This app does not provide an absolute temperature setpoint, per-radiator energy measurements, or Comfort −1°C/−2°C commands.
Hardware and testing
Tested with Remora V1.2 (MCP23017), firmware 1.4.0, and Homey Self-Hosted Server 13.4.1. The app targets the local Homey platform (Homey 12+, SDK 3); physical Homey Pro testing is still welcome. Homey Cloud is not supported.
Seven outputs have been paired on SHS. Device commands and individual/group Flow actions were tested by resending the already-active Frost protection mode, and state recovery after an app restart was verified. There are also 14 automated tests. Physical transitions to the other three modes and their electrical effects still need testing; the app checks the state reported by the firmware.
